My favorite herb
Star Anise is probably my favorite herb. For one, it just looks cool. The taste is phenomenal; I love mixing it with horehound and a bit of mint for tea. This Star Anise is a great quality. It's very fresh and the smell is wonderful. I bought a small bag to sample to see the quality before committing to a larger bag. It was a good value for the quality. The health benefits of Star Anise are quite impressive and lengthy.

For the price these are great. I use them in cooking and crafts, lol. I purchased 3 bottles and if I ever run out I will buy more.

Lots of Whole Pieces
Excellent quality, fresh, many whole pieces. The best I’ve tried. Used for holidays in cider—also use in green tee for a little extra flavor.

Too many broken.
Good product if you were using it for cooking or something or simmer pots.. however, if you're using it for crafting which I was, not so good. Lots of broken stars.

Licorice smell, but gets the job done with elderberry
Smells like black licorice! Used for an elderberry tincture/elixr. (Along with Brandy, Everclear, ginger root, and honey) My husband got a sore throat and cough, and he could feel relief (for about 8 hours) after taking 4ml of the mixture.

Broken pods
Only about 1/4 of the package had whole star anise pods, the rest were broken. A bit disappointed, as this was for a craft project.

If you’re looking for the whole star- don’t buy these…they came like mulch, I wanted the whole star. These don’t work for what I need.
