Sunnto Zoop Novo Diving Computer
Is this the best diving computer out there?? Far from it. But it is simple to use and provide enough relevant features for a semi-serious recreation diver that occasionally is doing a deep dive or numerous dives during a 24-hour period. This has value--good features and a good price. Easy to see the face underwater and controls were easy to use (but have only used in warm water, hence no gloves...with gloves??)

something easy to use and figure out for an amateur diver
I was looking for an entry level dive computer, something easy to use and figure out for an amateur diver. I have used this on several dives and love how easy it is to use! It is very basic and honestly that is all I need right now. I have all my dive information in one place which makes it easy to record in my dive journal later on. I highly recommend. Screen is easy to read and I have had no issues whatsoever. If you are looking for an entry level dive computer to start with, consider this. It is a good quality product that is easy to use and easy to read.

interesting watch!
this watch is definitely for the “amateur” diver .. but it can be use as a regular watch & it’s an “EYE CATCHER” .. it’s simple & non-complicated to operate .. YouTube has lots of instructional videos .. the accessories are fun to use .. if the strap is to long, a watch expert will adjust accordingly to wrist size .. black & lime are the best colors .. 5-stars!

Good functionality, easy to see underwater.
After taking it a dive trip I learned it's a very conservative dive computer, which is safer. The dive master knew the computer and pretty much said "it's OK". Yes, it's user friendly. I bought this as my first wrist dive computer and it works. The price was good compared to others. You might want to consider other options if you can afford it.

Great computer
This computer does everything I need. I've used it on a dozen or so dives in the last 4 months, max depth 99'. You can read up before you use it or just hit the water. It activates itself at about 2' and guides you from there. Beeps at you if you are ascending too quickly. Beeps at you if you are about to pass no decomp bottom time. If you do, it builds in your stops. It held me at 15' for some extra minutes on a dive where I went over. I feel very comfortable with this computer. I've been diving over 40 years and finally got a computer and I like it a lot. I bought the cord to connect it to a PC but it didn't fit. I want to get one so I can keep a landside record as well as on the dive computer. I sent the cord back and contacted the seller. Here's what they said in reply: Certainly, we have them fulfilled by Amazon if you search this asin B007P4FML6 It is confusing because you probably got the old zoop cable. The new zoop novo takes the one like the watches. They call it the d series.

Very unintuitive and unsafe
Not sure why people think this is a great computer but I gave it about 15-20 dives and still could never figure out the thing or what it was telling me. For starters, look at the picture itself; the numbers are not aligned with the data descriptions such as the "53". Is that "53" feet, minutes, seconds or no dec time but it is not aligned with "no dec time" so it looks like some other data set. Next, myself and a dive instructor tried several times to change the Nitrox PO2 and could never figure it out. Another, does not come with a manual (that does not help on a boat) and you have to sit down at a computer or phone somewhere to see how to operate it (those don't work very well in Florida sun). Finally, the thing is just really awkward and unintuitive. I could somehow decipher it went into deco mode but it held me under for a ridiculously long time (like 20 minutes at 10 ft on second dive with over hour and half surface interval). I just can't believe people like this thing but maybe others will start telling similar stories to mine and I felt compelled to leave this review as I feel this unit is very unsafe....so much so that I am moving on to trying a Shearwater Perdix in an attempt to find a decent, basic and reliable dive computer. Oh, and have fun trying all the different button combinations and seeing what you come up with.

Simply not a 5 star product
I’m dumbfounded by the number of 5 star reviews on Amazon for the Zoop Novo. It’s just not a 5 star device. I’ve used the Suunto Gekko, Favor and Zoop at many dive resorts over the years and that was a major factor in my decision to purchase the Zoop Novo. While this device has a couple of improvements over its predecessor it is not a device that a dive resort will want to add to their rental inventory. Dive operation clients will be frequently surprised by what they see on the display and the dive operator staff will be constantly coaching their clients on the potential warnings and what they can and can’t ignore. The manual is arguably the worst of any dive computer on the market. Information is missing, misleading, and just wrong. After you spend time trying to understand what to expect in the water you can spend more time watching the meaningless promotional videos Suunto puts on-line. I’m sure that many of the people who gave the Suunto 5 stars didn’t read the manual. It’s easy to set aside. Its written in 5 or 6 pt font and the pictures are useless. The argument could be made that you’re better off just throwing yourself in the water and seeing what it does. I believe that a couple of the behaviors that I’ve seen are software bugs. Unfortunately the software cannot be replaced or updated. Let’s not forget the connecting cable. The links on amazon take you to the wrong cable (for $90) and it is clear that many people wasted some time on that purchase. It looks like some never figured it out and Suunto made no effort to get that fixed. The few users who have purchased the software give it poor reviews and none of the popular 3rd party software (e.g. Dive Logs) work with the Suunto Novo Zoop according to their website. I did find that the repair person at my local dive shop (an official Suunto repair center) was very knowledgeable and owned a Suunto. The only issue I found in my conversation with her was that she was a bit too eager to ignore the obvious faults and praise the minor improvements. The Zoop Novo is listed as part of a group of Suunto products that were the object of a lawsuit. Users were instructed to take their units to their repair centers for inspection. I was advised that although the Zoop Novo was on the list that none of them had the sensor problem mentioned in the law suit and I needn’t bring my in for inspection. If I were doing it over, I'd look for another brand.

Awesome entry level diving comp.
Picked two of these for the wife and I. Simple to use and easy to set up. My only word of caution is to be aware that if you activate a mode and generate a surface interval, you won't be able to switch to another mode until an appropriate time has elapsed. I had mine set to GAUGE and went for a snorkel to test it out only to discover I had to wait 48 hours until I could put it back to AIR or NITROX. Needless to say, I was a bit upset, but 100% user error.

Great dive computer.
Haven’t had a chance to dive with it yet, but the setup was easy and user friendly. I’ve used a Zoop before and they are excellent.

A great basic computer
Works perfectly! Does everything a basic dive computer needs to do. It looks a little large on the wrist, but I chose it specifically for the nice large digits which are great for older eyes that now need reading glasses to see up close. I also noticed that it's also the rental dive computer of choice of many dive shops in the Caribbean.

Awesome computer!
I have tested at different temperatures and pressures. Outstanding accuracy and simplicity.

Great purchase
It is exactly what I was looking for. The features and it's ease of use are a great for intermediate divers. I am so looking forward to using it this fall.
