What's the scariest thing you've ever done?

Fly in turbo prop plane halfway from New Jersey to Azores and see fire in one of 4 engines, then the pilot came back and checked another engine which was showing signs of fire, as well. We were flying about midway over the Atlantic with the only bailout option was to try to land on the water...imagine being in the middle of the Atlantic and no help anywhere. And I was pregnAnt. The pilots lowered altitude, extinguished fire in the two engines and thankfully got us to the Azores. My stomach did flip flops watching the water just below the plane, while we are worried about taking a November dip and I can’t swim! We were going on to Naples but the base did not have parts for the plane so we “vacationed” for a week until a replacement came from the States. Late 1950’s.

What is the headband made of? Family member has severe latex allergy and there is no indication of what material the headband uses.
