Yuasa YUAM26B4B 6N4B-2A Battery, One Size

This is a 6-volt battery designed to fit late '70s and early '80s Suzuki dirt/dual purpose bikes and no other brand or models. Earlier Suzuki 6-volt bikes used a battery of the same capacity shaped somewhat differently (6N4-2A). For those, the Motobatt MBT6N4 sealed type is a better option, because you don't need to remove it to monitor the fluid level and charge. Unfortunately, there is no AGM substitute for this 6N4B-2A, unless you try one of the UPS batteries, but those aren't vibration resistant and will fail quickly. As far as wet-style batteries go, this Yuasa is the only one I'm aware of that isn't made in China - it's made in Taiwan to Yuasa's specs. The others are all Chinese made and don't hold up as well, not even with constant attention to fluid level and maintenance charging. Pull the rubber cap off of the overflow spigot and remove the caps, then fill each of the three cells with electrolyte up to the upper level line. Allow the battery to sit for one hour, then tip the battery slightly to allow bubbles to escape, and fill each cell again to the upper level line. Then install the yellow cell caps. MANDATORY FOR LONG LIFE AND GOOD PERFORMANCE - the battery must be top charged using an automatic battery maintainer, and it must be done immediately after the one hour wait after filling. Failing to top charge will cause PERMANENT REDUCTION in battery capacity, battery life, and performance. I suggest using the Schumacher SEM-1562A-CA 1.5 Amp Speed Charge Battery Maintainer which is available right here on Amazon. The bonus with this maintainer is that it will automatically detect between 6-volt or 12-volt batteries, charging and maintaining either one. So you can use it for other bikes with 12-volt batteries or even your car. Most early battery failures are due to low electrolyte level, low state of charge, or both. So be sure to remove the battery to check and adjust the fluid level at least monthly, and charge the battery if it isn't being used regularly. I don't recommend keeping the maintainer hooked up to these wet style batteries during storage periods, because doing so will accelerate fluid loss.

This battery was incomplete - does not include acid - I have ordered MC batteries twice before and they both included acid - it is as if this creep sold toilets that did not include the flush mechanism - this battery will cost me more than if I drove 6 miles to the Bulbs and Batteries store 6 miles away - online ordering is wonderful, isn't it?

Works great! Fits perfectly in my 1974 Suzuki TS250.
