I powered the BD&M Converter from the USB port on my Smart TV. I'm using this to convert the A/V signal from a 30 year old VCR and an 18 year old Wii Game Console. I have the old devices connected through a MT-ViKI 4 Way AV RCA Switch, 4 in 1 Out, also available here on Amazon. My TV is a 55 inch Vizio 4K QLED Mini LED Smart TV which is set up to have the brightest possible display. Just be aware, as described in the listing, this converter does not improve/enhance the video from your old devices, so you'll not get the sharp bright images you normally see on your 4K 1080i Smart TV. The image will be softer. With my setup, I found I got the best display from the BD&M Converter with its ouput set at 720p. Highly Recommended.

It was delivered in a very timely manner. It also works as expected. Very grateful that a device like this exists. I have an older DVD player that I wanted to plug into our newer TV. This adapter successfully gave that DVD player a new life, so to speak, at a very affordable price.

I bought this mainly to use with an original Xbox, and it works as expected. Picture and sound come through HDMI without issues, and setup is straightforward. The video quality is about what you’d expect from an AV-to-HDMI converter, not perfect, but totally playable. It’s a solid solution if you’re trying to hook up older consoles to a modern TV. Overall, it does what it’s supposed to do and gets classic systems up and running again.

You might wonder why I’m even trying to hook up a VCR to a smart TV. The reason is simple—I still have a large collection of home VHS recordings as well as plenty of children’s tapes that I want to keep using. My TV does include component-style RCA inputs on the back, and I’ve successfully connected a Nintendo Wii that way. However, using the same approach with the VCR didn’t work. This solution, on the other hand, was truly plug-and-play and delivers the kind of picture quality you’d expect from an older VCR. I agree with others that switching between 720p and 1080p made no noticeable difference. It’s unclear whether that setting actually does anything, because the image didn’t become sharper or clearer. I ended up leaving it set to 1080p since it’s generally considered better suited for modern HDTVs. One important note: you do need to supply USB power for this to function. A cable is included for a 5V power source. My TV has two USB ports, and I also use a USB hub to expand the number of available connections. UPDATE: I ordered a different brand Viagkiki from Amazon and found that the picture is slightly better and clearer then this one.

Got my VCR working with this converter since our new television didn't have the yellow, red and white plugs.

For the time that it DID work it was amazing...then 4 days ago the audio went out on it and then yesterday the picture went out and this last time was accompanied by a hot plastic smell.. the unit was warm and since then nothing has functioned at all...every time I turn it on theres nothing, no sound, no picture... it just heats up a bit and stays that way. It's possible that this is a one off sort of deal and like I said originally for the time it worked I was pretty impressed...though admittedly it hasn't left the best impression on me... I won't be buying it again

This converter box is pretty well-made, and was very easy to use. There is minimal lag in the conversion between formats, but there is a very little bit still there. I use this box to convert HDMI to an audio coaxial, so I could hook it up into my Buttkicker base shaker. While the lag is there, for that functionality it’s a little less noticed. Nonetheless, it’s good to know before buying! I do appreciate how small the box is, and while it’s too bad you have to supply power externally, I guess it makes sense that the HDMI can’t power it.

Doesn't seem to work, get no signal in obs studio & on my old TV 90% of the time. When using cables directly it works.

This product is Exceptional, Outstanding and Unbelievable. At this price, it is able to convert the analog audio to digital audio without any drop in the quantity. I played the a HQ audio with bluetooth and then via this device and found that the audio quality of this device was much better. So don't give a second thought, just go for it!

The converter was easy to setup and worked exactly as expected.
