HUAWEI MateBook D 15.6'' Laptop, Full View 1080P FHD Ultrabook PC- (Intel Core i5-10210U, Multi-screen Collaboration, Fingerprint Reader, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Windows 10 Home), Gray

Absolutely love this laptop!! It's the perfect size for university, not too big or bulky, lightweight and small enough to carry to class and back whilst also being big enough to watch Tv in the evenings. It's fast, speakers are good quality, the Huawei share feature for the Huawei smart phones is also really useful. I was worried about the keyboard being too small as it is a smaller version of keyboards but it is actually perfect sizing compared to the larger keyboards! The only thing I'd be aware of is the camera angle being at the keyboard. The camera quality is excellent though if you don't mind the angle. I love the safety feature as you can press the camera down to close it however, the angle when it is up is not flattering and when talking to someone it looks like you're not looking at the camera. I bought a external USB plug-in camera and that does the job. Bought that off amazon for only around £20.

Pros: Big screen and satisfactory quality images, option of fingerprint/password when switching on, 3x usb ports, 1x headphones port. Cons: Usb power cable too short, a bit to long and complicated to set up when you start and set it first time, for the first two weeks of setting it up every morning I turned it on and I pop up window asking me to restart the computer after updates was needed... this was on a daily base for approx 2 weeks, the cooling fan was constantly starting blowing air even when I only was catching up on email and had only the yahoo tab open and nothing else, when laying down in bed on my side the fan would make strange noises as if trapped or catching onto something, Amazon put me through the Huawei Technical team when called them about this issues and they thought it was not normal for the fan to start so frequently and with only one tab open, so they suggested me buy a compressed air can to blow air through the vents as it could have been dust from when manufactured accumulated inside the machine. Obviously I refused such an intervention from my part! As probably I would have caused even more damage! Other cons are: speakers underneath of the laptop so not great audio if you use it on a table without cooling rack underneath, camera is in a button on the keyboard and the angle cannot be adjusted, audio is absolutely rubbish beside having speakers underneath. It also seems to be very slow if you have a couple of tabs open and particularly on some webs, and considering this it and intel i5 I expected to be a little more responsive and faster than it is. No need to say that I have arranged a return also because I never had a Microsoft computer before and I will never have one again I don’t think. For £549 this is not good enough I expected more, it is okay for teenagers I suppose but not for an adult even if used just for emails, catching up on social medias and watching Netflix...and if this cannot even do these basics then it is not good enough for me.

Works great with Linux, everything worked with no config apart from the fingerprint reader which doesn't have a driver yet. I would strongly recommend kubuntu.
