BUY THIS HIVE IT IS GREAT FOR BEGINNERS! We mistakenly bought a Venor Hive kit the first time because we thought the side windows would be interesting to watch the bees work. All the windows did was provide a space for small hive beetles to escape the bees and be safe. The fit of the hive was not good and it required sanding to make pieces fit properly. In contrast the Maybee hive was a completely different experience. All the pieces fit easily with minimal force. Also the pre-drilled holes made assembling the hive boxes effortless. Even the frames were easy to assemble. I am looking forward to ordering another deep box from this company and another medium box once my new hive gets established.

Love the quality of the wood. It has a thick good layer of wax. It has holes to put the screws for an easy assemble. Others bee hive you have to use nails and sometimes the wood crack a bit when you put the nail in. Having the holes for the screws already done, is so much easier and the wood don't crack. Thank you for that. Also the instructions are so much clear to understand. Will definitely buy more for my next hive.

Well priced for the this product.

Pieces fit very well together—no gaps or poor joints and there is a sufficient coat of wax so no painting required. It looks nice—mildly important for a backyard hobbyist. It comes with an entrance reducer too. But the inner cover is not notched, so you have to add one care to provide adequate ventilation. And the bottom board is solid—I prefer a screened bottom board for many reasons. So using this may require extra work and expense. But it is inexpensive by itself and a good value. Just know you may well have to make some adjustments.

Really good quality and craftsmanship. I’ve been using it for a few months now and the bees seem to love it. it took a little bit of time to build but ones done it was worth it and the instructions were pretty clear.

I usually buy from Dadant but this year my package of bees was arriving sooner than I thought and my Dadant order wasn't going to arrive soon enough. I frantically ordered this one and it was shipped within a day. I am very happy with the assembly. Much easier to assemble than my hive I got last year from Dadant and I only bent one nail while putting the frames together! I love that its all already coated with beeswax. It feels very sturdy. I am hopeful that it will hold up well in the elements.

Great starter but if you need two deeps and a honey super I would just spend the money to get the bigger one but over all well made

This was a present for a friend who is a bee keeper. He said its well made and good for a beginner to Apirey. But it is small for the more experienced Bee keeper. My friend uses this hive to attract new swarms.

Well fitting waxed parts that caused no assembly problems. Works like a charm.

No verroa tray, plastic queen excluder, plastic foundations ... not 'wax' or 'waxed' as stated. I will be adding the verroa tray myslef, trying to find wax foundations .... but you can save yourself the bother by purchasing the right make.
