Pretty happy with this, I got it to replace a sky broadband router and free up the deco x10 I had connected to it, to take internet down to my summerhouse at a decent speed. I've got only one gripe and that is every couple of weeks some of my smart home devices will be bizarrely off the network and my PC(and my kids 2 PCs) will also drop off and you have to reconnect them. This as said is only every couple of weeks and although annoying is easily rectified by a reboot via the app, so not the end of the world.

Replaced a family member's vintage Netgear router for an undemanding domestic installation (web browsing, email, occasional Skype calls, no kids, no streaming). Having first looked up the provider's login method (weird user id and domain format that's hard to remember), setting up was easy. I'd scribbled down the ADSL parameters but I didn't have to bother, as the setup pages allowed me to pull down UK, and then Plus Net. It was obvious how to change the SSID and password to the same as used before, so all the phones, laptops etc in the house were none the wiser. The administrator dashboard let me see what was connected, and reeled off some basic speed stats for the link, which was nice. Rellies back online, happiness unbound, job done. The design is fairly low key (avoids the Darth Vader helmet look : it's more Rebel Alliance maintenance droid) and the construction seems solid. I wonder if the lack of flat surface is aesthetic, or a way of discouraging people from parking books or teacups on top. Antenna mounts are the same gray plastic as the back panel where all the sockets are, but the build is confidence inspiring and there are clear status lights and gasp! an on/off switch and some wifi discovery things which I didn't use. It uses a tiny amount of power (going by the featherweight PSU and its specs). Compared to the outgoing unit which retailed at about a £ton, this is 10x the value (twice as many features for 1/5th of the beer tokens). Hopefully it will just sit there for another 10 years.

BEWARE, if you have Sky Q, it will not connect wirelessly, nor with an Ethernet cable! Returned for a refund simply based on this downside. Big shame because this router has amazing features and is more aesthetically pleasing than the routers you’d usually get from your ISP. It looks like a diffuser on your sideboard rather than a bit of tech. And you can also turn off the LED on it! As for the signal, it was no better than the ISP’s router (Sky/NOW hubs), I still had to use a WiFi booster to enhance the coverage the same as I did before. I never bothered to add the mesh routers to it simply because it wasn’t compatible with the Sky Q system so wasn’t going to invest any further and went back to the old ISP’s setup. I’ve since switched to Sky Stream (puck system) which has no problems whatsoever with this mesh! I’ve now installed the additional mesh products for a great home network where everything is fully compatible with a top notch WiFi signal!

Really good, works well with their booster. Beware the QOS settings in the App, you may turn it on and limit your speeds to 4mb unknowingly.
