Is it plastic or is the statue metal?

No, it only apears that way because the finish on the character's costume is especially "Metallic" looking and shiny. The Kotobukiya ARTFX+ statue line was created to offer a lower-price alternative to cold-cast resin statues, which are larger, heavier and more expensive than these items. The ARTFX+ statues are manufactured from blown plastic and are hollow inside. They are 1:10 scale and all are in scale with the other ARTFX+ statues, Marvel & DC characters alike. Because of the lightweight nature of these items, the ARTFX+ statues usually feature a Base unit, and the statue figure features magnets in their feet that affix to a specific area on the base to keep the statue stable and secure.

Does the statue come in it's original packaging?

Yes it did come in its original packaging.

All of the Kotobukiya statues are made with care and packaged beautifully. While the Flash statue is not as dramatic as the Superman, Batman and Iron Man statues that are 12 to 15 inches in height, it is well done, approximately six inches in height, and attached magnetically to a base with the Justice League logo imprinted on the base. It's a good representation of the Flash as drawn by Jim Lee in the new 52 version.

There were knock offs circulating for the Flash, Superman, and Green Lantern ArtFX+ statues. If the packaging is in a clear plastic box then it is real. If it is in a cardboard box with a front window view then it is fake. Make sure to ask for a picture of the item before purchase to make sure.
