Why does “youtheory men maca” have lead (pb) in it? the container’s label has a warning that “consuming this product can expose you to lead”.

We understand your concern but know this product is 100% safe for consumption. Lead is commonly found in whole botanical (herb) and mineral ingredients, and is naturally-occurring in a wide variety of dietary supplement products. Additionally, lead is a naturally-occurring element that is ubiquitous in the environment and present in all soils, plants and water sources. The State of California requires a Prop 65 warning on any product that may be sold in California that would result in a consumer ingesting more than 0.5 mcg of lead per day. This is an exceedingly low level that is, by law, 1000 times lower than the highest level of lead known by California NOT to cause health issues. By comparison, the American diet is reported to provide about 15–25 mcg of lead per day or more. Our product is thoroughly tested and is significantly below the allowable limit for naturally-occurring lead set forth by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). What is the difference between the men's and women's maca? the women's is out of stock, and i'm wondering if it's ok to take the men's.
