Good quality compression stocking
Just the right amount of compression, really helps with pain and swelling. Open toe is a definite benefit.

Works well for long flights and stays in place -- Update: Over A Year Later and Still Holding Up
Update 2/10/2025: I have used these stockings on multiple trips for the last 18 months. There are stilll no snags, rips, tears or wayward strings. The silicone beads that help keep the grip at the top of the stockings are still working. The fabric has loosened slightly after multiple uses and washings (hang dry) so that I do sometimes have to adjust them a bit after wearing for a few hours, but they have not rolled down or fallen down. A tip my sister-in-law shared with me that I've followed is to wear disposable gloves (nitrile or latex) when getting the stockings on and off. The stockings roll up and down easier with the gloves and the gloves help mitigate the risk of snags from fingernails in the process. Original review: I purchased these compression stockings a few weeks ago for a trip involving multiple long flights. I confirmed the compression strength to purchase with my physician, something I would recommend doing for anyone thinking of using them. These worked very well to help reduce swelling of lower extremities and to mitigate against a DVT. I wore them for approximately 30 hours each way (total 60 hours), and I had no problem with the top of the stockings rolling down thanks to the silicone beads in the top bands. I did have to make adjustments to the bottom portion on my feet, as they rode up a bit but nothing significant. I chose a size based on my largest measurement, as my measurements did not squarely fit within one size. As a result, the stockings were snug but comfortable for compression stockings. They definitely made for a much more comfortable trip and recovery. A couple of tips for putting them on and taking them off: (1) Follow the instructions included with the stockings regarding how to put them on -- those were very helpful. (2) Use gloves (like nitrile gloves) when putting them on and taking them off. The gloves make it easier to evenly distribute the material and avoid snagging them. The stockings seem durable but I'll have to use them a bit more before I can form an opinion about their durability.

Great! But if buying for post-surgery wear, you may need to size up
I had a small leg surgery and needed to wear compression hose for a few weeks. So I originally bought these in large because my measurements fit in that size. However, when I got them they kept sliding down to my knee and I was constantly having to readjust them. If I had to walk more than 10 feet, I had to completely readjust the stocking when I was done. I finally realized that I didn’t take any post-surgery swelling into account when selecting my size. I ordered an XL and these fit so much better. Huge difference in the compression in the thigh area and they don’t fall down anymore. So if you’re buying these for surgery, consider sizing up. That said, these are really nice quality and do exactly they’re supposed to do. My doctor was even happy with the brand I bought. Now that I’ve got the right size, I can feel the difference in my thigh.

Not as good as medi :( May work for mild compression legs
For all you compression hose addicts who are wondering, do I have to pay for super expensive medi products to get benefit or Can I get by w less expensive brand like jobst? Short answer is jobst is not up to the task for the long haul. I work crazy long hours. Minimal 10 hour shift, max is 13 hours. Jobst sort of gets tired and loses the tightness :( medi doesnt. I rewear wo washing It’s why I get open toe. And jobst only stays w me for one wear. Medi i get 3-4 days out of before it needs washing to reset the fibers. :(so for my needs i have to pony up for medi! But - jobst does stay in place and might be good if you have minimal compression needs . I need firm AT MINIMAL, Ideally very firm.
