Corner Sumikko Gurashi Two Tier Bento Lunch Box KY41101

The wife here: I absolutely adore this bento box. It's the perfect size for someone who is looking to portion control. The bottom is great for rice and the top can be split between proteins and veggies. I know I should have more veggies, but that's on me. It holds up to reheating in the microwave. I have not tested it in a dishwasher as I do not have one, so that remains a mystery. The snap clips are sturdy and work well. The rubber seal is easily removed from the top to be cleaned and even easier to put back in. It's super easy to clean by hand and so far has been leak proof but I have never tested it with anything semi liquid - It's not common in Japanese bento anyways. All in all 100/10. I'm debating buying another one as a back up in case mine ever fails or is broken. Ps, it comes with chopsticks, but no other utensils so if you prefer a fork and spoon, you'll need to buy those separate.

食べられる量が格段に増え、それまで使っていたお弁当箱の容量では物足りないとのことで新調しました。今度、学校の授業で課外学習があり、その時に使います。まだ使っていないので、容量が丁度いいのか不明ですが、すみっコぐらしが大好きな子なので見た目はとても気に入っていて、使うのを楽しみにしてます。

全体的にパステルカラーで可愛い。ただ、ロックがしにくい。ちゃんと丁寧に重ねてからじゃないとカチッとならない。上下の箱の間に仕切りのゴムパッキンがあってそこにお箸が入ってる。机の上で安定した場所ならいいけど、遠足とかだと気をつけて開けないと箸がすっ飛んじゃいそう。なので、私は箸は別売りのものを持たせてます。2段だけどそんなに量は入らないかな。高学年女子なら十分だけど、男子だと絶対に物足りないw

I love this! I expected it to look small, and it does. But as the description says, each of the two compartments (top and bottom) is 300 mL for a total of 600 mL, around 2.5 cups. I verified it by pouring cups of water into it. Sources I've read say this is appropriate for adult women around 5'1" and that the number of mL is approximately equal to the number of calories you will likely pack in the box, but of course whether the box works for you personally depends on how bulky your lunch food is, how much you eat and how tightly you pack the food in the box. I plan to put my main food in here (rice, meat/egg, etc), packed tightly, and if I have additional bulky fruit or veggies some days I might bring them separately. Based on tests with water, the top compartment is leak proof but the bottom one is not. I don't know that I would pack soups in here personally because I don't plan to microwave food in it and I also might want to pack a larger portion depending on how dense the soup is.
