Would this paper cutter work with 250gsm photo paper?

First thing I did was just that (cut photos) and it's really on point. I am still on the same blade and have had the product 2 weeks using daily for hundreds of photos I am making scrapbooks for my kids. It cuts thick 120g paper too in 4sheets at a time.

How do you release the extension arm

It can be a little stiff to start with but it loosens after a while
