Are there any stabilizers added to this Hydrogen Peroxide like the ones in the brown bottle?

Pharmaceutical grade hydrogen peroxide, in the brown bottle in drug and grocery stores, contain stabilizers, which can include heavy metals. Food grade hydrogen peroxide, however,  has no additives. It costs much more, but is much safer to use in many cases.

You may not believe this, but I had water in one of my ears a few decades ago, and put food grade vinegar, from the grocery store, in it to help dry it out. I don't know why, but I later went to a doctor, who scared me after hearing I had used natural vinegar in it. She then proceeded to write me a prescription for pharmaceutical grade acetic acid (VINEGAR!) Yup, it's all about the money - $1.00 for a generous sized bottle, versus $30.00 for a small one.

Question 2

If this gets accidentally on clothes, will it take the color out?

Accepted Answer

It could, but it probably wouldn't.   Hydrogen Peroxide is an oxygen bleach, so it typically won't hurt colored fabrics in low concentrations and this product is only at 3%. How much should be used as a mouthwash?

We aren't medical professionals, but we know that some dentists will recommend Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide as a mouthwash. Additionally, many oral care articles talk about using FGHP for teeth whitening on occasion. At 3% this product may be too harsh for daily use in oral care, but we do make an Organic Brushing Rinse (mouthwash) that has a diluted amounts of hydrogen peroxide in it.

Isn't H2O2 supposed to be stored in a dark bottle?

As the item does not contain the toxic stabilizers found in brown bottles, the formulation is not needed to be stored in a darker bottle.
