Just opened the package to inspect it. People talked about not having instructions and different stuff like that mine came with instructions granted they’re very rudimentary just an image but that’s all you need. And I like that everything was packaged with like items and all separated from each other so it’s easier to keep track of everything so when you’re putting it together it’s gonna be a lot easier and knows much of a hassle. Materials feel to be a good quality I will be assembling it and attaching to my roof rack here shortly. And I will update my review at that time

People complaining about assembly probably have trouble putting their pants on in the morning too. Assembled the whole thing without directions and installed on my vehicle in half an hour total. Only used once so far but seemed solid with a 45lb 11' kayak in it for 25 miles. Would definitely buy again.The instructions to wrap the tie down on the lower loop of the rack is wrong though. Always wrap through and around your roof rack.

The worst part of this product is the assembly but they did work to transport a kayak (2 actually). Unfortunately, we had some high winds that bent the roof rails but the JBars stayed attached which is saying a lot.Make sure to get each of the corner nuts screwed in as tight as possible. The frustration came because there’s nothing to hold the screw in while you twist the nut. So I had to push down with my finger onto the top of the screw while I used a wrench to twist on the nut. My fingers had friction burns by the time I finished assembling 4. So that sucked. If you don’t hold the screw, the nut and screw turn together which doesn’t tighten anything.One of the cushions on the out part of the just ripped but I’m not sure if that was because of the high winds or quality of the cushion. Considering it didn’t happen to the other three, I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt.Overall, I’m happy with this purchase.

Just used these on a 450mi round trip with a kayak. Installing was easy, the initial setup was ok but was sent 4 of the wrong screws. In all this is ok for the price.

The instructions are perfectly clear on how these are to be assembled. There are not step by step instructions, but they are not needed.These are not as big as the other set I have for one of my two Kayaks. Luckily I bought this set for the smaller of my two kayaks.Overall I mean... for a little over $30 Im happy so far. We will see how well they do when I drive with my kayak down the road for 5 hours on my upcoming trip.

All in all, this is a solid j-bar rack. It fit on my square crossbars and holds our ~70lbs tandem kayak. I purchased some higher quality ratchet straps, and didn’t use the ones provided. It bolts together, but not very easily. Once assembled it feels solid and sturdy. You have to bolt the rack to your crossbars and this makes it harder to take on and off the roof rack, wish there was a bit of an easier way for this.

These seem sturdy and were simple to assemble. However, the nuts provided were reversed by amount vs type. Will have to make a trip to the hardware store to correct that error.

I think its worth buying if you have a half day to assemble.
