Easy to use. Makes loading my kayak easy and the pads offer excellent protection. NOT easy to assemble. I had to watch all the videos to figure out how it is suppose to go together because the pieces just don’t fit. I had to pull the plastic sleeves open quite aggressively to slide the metal bars in. Tightening the bolts that hold it all together was ridicules as noted by others as they want to turn. Once together it is a synch attaching it to the rack. Very pleased that it fits my older Ford Explorer rack.

I was under the impression that this would come with ratcheting loop hooks for tying down the front and back ends of the kayak. I did not get those with my shipment and had to order them separately. However, the mounts are pretty sturdy with good quality and serve their purpose fine. Worth the price.

After parting with a place on a lake, used these to deliver 6 kayaks over multiple multi-100 mile trips to the next generation. Assembly was easy with most parts symmetric precluding backwards or upside down assembly. A nice design touch on an inexpensive product. Bar material is sturdy gangue so they should hold hold up. Fit easily over Volvo / Thule OEM broad wing shaped crossbar.

People complain about it being difficult to assemble or the instructions are not clear. If you’re good with your hands this is a walk in the park. Instructions have no words but if you can’t read a picture then I don’t know what to tell ya. Good deal all around

As with most of the items I purchase on amazon, they are cheap Chinese knock offs rebranded by a amazon seller for American appeal. These kayak mounts fit that bill. The kayak stands are sturdy enough, the connector clamps on the bottom are garbage and do not fit my car rack tight at all. The cheap metal bends under righting force with a boxed end wrench or socket wrench. I made my own which seemed better served. All in all if you can fabricate they are decent stands. If you expect to get sturdy stands out of the box, I hear might not fit the bill for you.

I purchased a pair of these for our two new kayaks. Unfortunately the two-pack wasn't available so it cost $15 more than it might have. My wife and I assembled and mounted the racks in less than 30 minutes having never used anything similar. The instructions are not unclear, they're pictorial. If you can do Ikea, you can do this. We mounted both on our '17 Outback and they easily accommodated the two 10 foot, 47 pound kayaks. Tie-down was easy with the straps provided. The only thing we added was pads to protect the paint where the tie-downs might have rubbed.

Not easy to put together, instructions were not clear but I did manage to get one put together before realizing the second one was defective. Completely missing a hole in the metal for a screw... this can't be assembled yet alone used.

This is a very sturdy, well made accessory which will probably work well for many. However, it does not work for me because the angles are not correct to fit my cedar strip kayak. I suspect it would fit well and work fine for many off-the-shelf kayaks and standup paddle boards. The fit is especially important to me because my kayak is hand built and needs to be transported with care to not create damage. If the angles were adjustable or it fit the shape of my kayak better I would rate it as 5 stars.

Barres en J pour transporter des kayaks. Je les ai depuis au moins 10 ans et ils sont encore très bon. Les kayaks tiennent bien et ne glisse pas. Les attaches (cordes) sont très solide et tellement plus facile à utiliser que celle qu'on pourrait trouver ailleurs en magasin. Je recommande cet achat à 100%. Une ''must'' pour tous les fans de kayak !

Comme il y a 6 boulons par support il faut prendre le temps de l'assembler. Une fois installer c'est parfait,solide et les courrois sont robustes
