I know they said not suitable for gas but will it still work?

It will pump Gasoline. It’s not good for the seals. I’ve used these to pump gasoline temporary. The motor is sealed, the switch is sealed for a little while. Electric arc from the switch would most likely be the most hazardous place for worry. I will fill the pump with diesel after pumping gasoline.

Technically because you will probably have one hell of a fire and burn your vehicle, yourself, and any and all people and property within 50 ft. The answer you are looking for is this motor does not have sealed and isolated brushes, meaning sparky, spark, kaboom, fire!!! Gasoline pumps exist and are more expensive, of course, buy one if you need one.

Where is it manufactured?

At the plant. Sorry I was being smart Alec. Most probably China or Korea where everything else is produced. Spend the money use it and when it breaks throw it away and get another one.
