Highly recommend for quick, easy fireplace make over!
I am shocked at how easy it is to change out these doors and how quickly they updated the look of our '90's style gold fireplace doors (house was built in '98). This product is incredible. Great packaging, great look and quality, and easy to follow instructions for installing new doors. I had to google instructions on how to remove the old ones, and it took a good amount of muscle, but I got them off in a few minutes. Installed each one of the new ones in maybe 2 minutes total. I initially was going to order a crappy stand alone screen and leave doors off our fireplace. However, our very nosey dog likes to get into fireplaces and leave dirty paw prints on the floor. So, I wanted to update our look and actually have clean replacement doors, and not have to pull a dog away from trying to knock over a screen and make a mess. I spent a ton of time researching the type of fireplace I had and how to measure doors. Make sure you do your homework prior to purchasing! But I absolutely recommend these doors!

Great fit, looks nice
So we have a cat that loves digging through the fireplace and due to the odd shape of our fireplace surround, a typical fire screen would not suffice. Fortunately, I found these glass doors, and they fit great! We could not be more happy with them, and they took about two minutes to snap into place. They make our fireplace look nicer, and prevent the cat from destroying everything inside of it. We have a Heatilator EL36, installed in 2015. The only downside, which is very minor, is that there's a small 1/8 of an inch gap between the two doors. The glass appears to be good quality and the handles are nice as well. We've received tons of compliments on how nice the doors look on our fireplace, and my husband and I wish we had purchased these much sooner.

great doors but plan to make improvemt
The doors went in very easy and seem to be excellent quality. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because the gap is surprisingly large around the parameter and between the two central pains. The fireplace pulls lots of air from the outside air supply with the doors closed but a lot of inside air still makes it in through the gaps. I plan to install a ceramic rope type seal with an adhesive bond around the parameter to improve fuel efficiency. I did notice during testing that the gap over top of the doors needs to not be blocked to keep the air current direction inside such that it wont pull smoke toward the doors that can blacken the glass over time.

Good communication from Seller. Easy to install. Looks great.
I ordered this door and immediately got a call from the seller. They asked what model i needed and explained that I would need an adaptor kit b/c my fireplace was pre-1997. The adaptor kit was an additional $30 or so but it arrived a day after the doors. The instructions in the adaptor kit were clear and easy to follow. Let it be known that I am not handy or good with tools. I got the adaptor kit installed and the doors installed in less than 30 minutes (and that's after having to reset the adaptor kit because i didn't measure the offset correctly the first time).Good sales and service. Good shipping and instructions. Easy set up. Looks great installed.

Defective and bent
I received a defective set. One door was bent out of the box and doesn’t close correctly. I contacted the company and they said they don’t have the information to help me? That doesn’t even make sense. My doors should’ve been replaced immediately. Horrible customer service. Do not purchase from them.

The only thing I would recommend before installing the glass doors is to make sure ...
I had the EL 36 Heatilator fireplace insert and it fit perfectly. The only thing I would recommend before installing the glass doors is to make sure the adjustable top clip hole lines up with the fixed bottom hole first. I didn't do that first and the first door was crooked which I had to take off and redo. Once those holes are aligned then just snap the doors into place and they are square. If you have the EL 36 get these doors. A local fireplace supplier wanted $100 for installation and $90 more for the doors!

Ok unit, questionable installation & support, misleading for pre-1997 owners
I ordered these for my unit, did my homework ahead of time to find my unit was pre-1995.One star off for their comment of, "let us know if your unit is pre-1997, and we will include additional hardware". Nice of them to say that, but what they don't say is if you have a pre-1997 unit, it's a $30 upcharge. Once you tell them this they refer you to their website to but additional Hardware.2nd star off, my unit was pre-1997, yet the kit didn't quite work as my lower piece is slotted also for ventilation. I called them up to explain, their solution was for me to ship it back because they haven't seen anything like this before. My unit was stamped from the factory like this, I'm and engineer, and can tell it was manufactured this way. Luckily I had the skill set and tools to make it work. the pre-1997 adapter kit, simply did not fit with all the pieces (following the instructions). There was no way to get the provided spacers to work with the doors. I again had to improvise, elimainate the spacers and use the bolts at correct spacing as the hinge points. Again, i have the aptitude to work around the obstacle, others may not.As an example of the skill set needed, I don't understand those who had a hard time aligning the doors. It's incredibly simple and literally takes seconds, provided you have a square & level unit.Unit also does not seal, and with my lower valence slotted, there is still a draft, but better than sans doors.

Looks Great after some adjustments
These look great, but I will cover the adjustments that I had to make. After initially installing the doors looked horrible, I first tried adjusting the attachment points within the fireplace but this was insufficient. To install the correctly I found the best thing to do is loosen the top and bottom hinges on the doors, place the panels together on a flat hard surface to align the glass together then retighten the hinges. Once this is complete then adjust the internal connection points inside the fireplace to get the correct vertical alignment. Once these steps were all done they looked great!
