It's mentioned in several places in this listing, but I still overlooked that these are G2 Batteries (my fault).. that means they're meant to work on G2 smart chargers.. G2 means they DO NOT HAVE BALANCE LEADS. I have 3 expensive balance chargers that I expected to use with this. Fortunately I had a small and inexpensive S150 G2 charger I'd forgotten about that does a surprisingly good job. I can't charge 4 at a time like i intended, but it works fairly well. The battery itself does a great job. It's the obvious upgrade next to the 600, which DOES have balance leads. Performance difference is proportional between them.. 30% more energy, offset by a weight increase so that it feels more like 15-18% longer runs on a light airframe.

I’m using these packs with an Avian 15amp ESC in my FMS 800mm RC planes. The ESC has an IC2 connector, just like these packs. It’s a perfect, lightweight combo for those smaller planes. Getting 5 or 6 minutes of flight time. You don’t need an expensive Smart charger. Not having to worry about discharging packs with my busy life is really helpful. Highly recommend.

Let me be clear: This battery is a good at being a battery. However, it is the most inconvenient thing ever made as batteries go. This battery is made as far as I can tell, for only 1 thing - the Blade 230s helicopter. Because the balance cable is integrated into the main connector, It can only be charged by a spektrum charger. It can only be hooked to the charger through an IC3/IC2 adapter cable. So if you have banana plug to EC2 like I do for all your 1/18th or 1/16th scale batteries... forget it. Even if you aren't a religious balance charger like myself, the EC2 connector is not compatible with the IC2, unlike the larger variations. Unlike other batteries, you can't change the connector to match it to your other models. So if you've already invested in a nice dual bank charger for your dozens of batteries for airplanes, boats, car/trucks, and now you have this one for a helicopter... you have to buy the $30 battery, the $8 adapter, and at a minimum, a $25 USB charger that won't power on with a fast wall charger for a cellphone/VR headset. BTW, it wasn't that long ago that the B6AC Charger was only $32, and it can balance charge 2s-6s at up to 7A with whatever banana plug adapters you could get your hands on, not to mention safe full discharge, storage discharge, and all the battery tests you could do on numerous types of batteries. So your now $63 into a 850mAh 3s battery, adapter, and charger... no part of which is cross compatible with anything you else you have, and you're charging slower than snot. Another battery, $93 in. So if you happen to find yourself with a Blade 230s, do yourself a favor, and clip that stupid IC2 connector off immediately and swap to a deans plug. Zippy, Urgenex, Gens Ace, Hoovo, Tattu, damn near everyone with the exception of Zeee (shockingly) makes a like sized battery for this helicopter. Surely you could buy half a dozen of them for the $93 you'd pay for 2 of the spektrum 850s. Avoid this thing like the plague.

The absence of a balance lead is inconvenient in that it can only be charged on a spektrum smart charger. But, it is meant for smaller models were weight and space are critical. It’s data wire can provide telemetry data to your computerized transmitter (I love my NX6). If your flying model has the small data wire you can scroll on your transmitter and see inflight esc and battery info. My A10 doesn’t have that wire and I can only see receiver data. My blade 230s smart has it and I can see battery voltage, individual cell voltages, engine rpms and all sorts of data all while in flight.

Don't forget the adapter for charging. Would be nice if it was available with a balance lead wire. But I happened to have the right adapter in another plane so I got them charged . And don't try to tie two adapters to make it work. It won't.

Ich nutze 2 dieser Akkus für meine E-flite UMX A-10 twin 30mm EDF. Sie haben ordentlich Leistung und die Kapazität sowie Flugdauer stimmen auch. Leicht 6min möglich. Klar gibt es günstigere Akkus für ähnlich oder gar bessere Leistung. Aber wer nicht extra am Flugmodell umlöten will, ist mit Spektrum Akkus für Spektrum Applikationen bestens bedient. Die Smart Daten sind ein „nice to have“ und ermöglichen besseren Überblick über Ladezyklen oder autom. Storage Entladung (entlädt zb in 24 Std selbst auf Lagerspannung). Hatte die Akkus anfangs sogar ohne Spektrum Ladegerät geladen. Langsam (max 1C). Die Akkus haben am Ende des Ladezyklus die 3 Zellen selbst balanciert. Nicht unbedingt empfehlenswert aber es funktioniert! Zellen haben dadurch einzeln etwas über 4,2V erreicht (ca. 4,22V), bevor sie sich selbst auf 4,2 balanciert haben. -Kann auf Dauer evtl. die Zellen schädigen.- Alles in einem sehr empfehlenswerte Akkus!
