Victory Lap F492 Starter Solenoid for Ford

I used this as a replacement for my 3 post original. No issues and very easy to install. Instructions indicate which post is not used in the 3 post hookup too.

My car had the original starter solenoid in it for 25 years when started to have starting issues, my tests indicated the solenoid was failing. I bought a new because of the price , yes bad idea , I should have read the reviews, this one has started failing also, before I go to battle over the new solenoid , Ill lick my wounds and spend the extra money on one local , where the return policy is easy and there is little or no down time. BUY AMERICAN

Exact fit on my 1995 Ford Ranger, cranked the first time. Only been in there a day, hoping it lasts.

Perfect fit and function. Very pleased with initial quality. Only time will tell how well it will last.

the contacts inside this solenoid are of poor quality the lower contact is just thin copper strap, no silver pad for the contact, it doesn't take much to burn them up, they will either arc and stick together or they will not make good enough contact to let the voltage or high amperage through to the starter. I bought 3 of them last year, I am on my last one. I opened them up to see what failed so I cant return them.

Does its job.

Replaced solenoid on my simplicity tractor last Feb. worked fine.....for 11 months..Today I am back to jumping terminals to get the tractor to start. This tractor has the snowblower permanently mounted and is only used 3 or 4 months a year.
