My Choice for Off-Body Carry
This review is for those who choose to carry a concealed firearm off-bidy in special bags or backpacks. It's not to debate the pros or cons in the "on-body vs off-body" concealment choice. Ultimately, in today's day and age, having a legally carried concealed firearm with you in whatever manner you choose, is better than not having one at all. In the summer or hitter states where clothing is thin and light, carrying off body in a bag or backpack is a viable choice.I've used many different Velcro holsters for my backpacks and bags, and this is the best one for my needs. If you carry your pistol off body in a sling bag or backpack, this is perfect. The holster and backing is made of stiff nylon that holds the size and shape of whatever you adjust it to. It can be adjusted to any size pistol (I've used it for full sized Glock 22, sub compact Glock 27, and slimmer pistols, including the Glock 43 and the Smith & Wesson Shield). The way it holds the firearm covers the trigger completely, preventing any accidental discharges. Also, the way it is made keeps the firearm in place. If adjusted correctly, I can turn my bag over or in any orientation and the pistol won't fall out, but it can be drawn easily by pulling it straight up with the direction of the holster.Of course, just about all of the Velcro holsters are adjustable. The reason I keep choosing this one is for the extra magazine slot. It is an elastic material that fits both single stack and double stack magazines. Before this, I used to keep an exra mag but it would just be floating around the bottom of the bag. Then I tried a separate mag holder, but it took up too much room. This is a great solution. It's nice and compact, so the extra mag sits close to the firearm, using minimal space, and is ready for a quick reload if necessary, because after the pistol is drawn, the magazine is still in an upright, easy to find orientation.I have one of these for all my concealed carry bags and backpacks, and I also give them as gifts to others who carry off body.Given the price point and variety of colors, you can't go wrong.

Simple and Practical Addition
Anything carrying the Maxpedition label is generally great quality. This is no different. If you're looking to carry off your person in something like a Maxpedition or Vertex bag that is lined with loop fastener, this is a good addition. I currently have this in a Vertex Commuter Sling and it works perfectly. It is configurable to whatever you're looking to holster and is definitely designed to fit what it looks like it's designed to fit, nothing much bigger. The hook fastener all the way through is very sturdy and latches on well. The retention band is made very sturdy as well. There's no "droop" or "sag" to it. Overall, another great product. Does what it's supposed to do.

Works great for a basic EDC holster
Nice little firearm holder for a backpack with a velcro field. it holds my sig p238 and s&w shield perfect. While it does hold the weapon snug, if you bounce around too much, it's possible to dislodge the firearm from this holster, and it ends up the the bottom of your bag. But for everyday usage, it will work great.

Fits 5.11 Messenger Bag and Springfield XD
This has the proper hook backing to be the 'other side' of the velcro match for the carry pocket in a 5.11 Messenger bag. I carry a Springfield XD and it fits nicely. It takes a little adjusting to get it snug an you should expect to monkey with it for all of 30 seconds until you get the tension right. The mag retention part holds an XD magazine okay. It is not super snug, but it holds.Remember that this is meant to be placed in the inside of a fairly tight zipper compartment. It is not like there should be a lot of jostling going on.With the XD in this holster, and with it all lined up in the messenger bag, it is very simple to unzip the top and reach straight in and grab the grip. Without the holster, the gun floats freely in the big pouch and you are not presented with the grip. With the holster, the grip is 'right there' and very quick to grab and draw.Just as fast or faster than whipping back a shirt to uncover a holster properly and drawing from concealed. Is it faster than open carry? Well obviously not.If you are concealing in a bag like the 5.11 messenger or any of the fine maxpedition products, this holster will allow you to position the grip to make a draw smoothe and easy. Also, the holster is a very effective trigger guard that will less chance of an unexpected 'bang'.It works for my purposes and it is well made. A fine product.

Small problem.
I am in the process of putting together a Go bag with a carry conceal pocket. You could just let the gun slide around or better yet secure it. I highly recommend the latter. After researching different options I decided on the Maxpedition Sneak holster. It is a universal style holster with its adjustable strap. My Glock 27 fits perfectly with room to spare. I also like the mag holder. Glock double stack mags fit well. I have another piece of Maxpedition Gear and am highly impressed with the design and quality. I now have their Jumbo LEO bag on order with Amazon and can't wait to put everything together. Maxpedition now has a fan for life.UPDATE. I just realized a small problem. When iI put this on my right side, my carry side, the gun butt faces to the front not to the rear like it should. When I reverse it the butt of the gun goes over the top of the mag holder. That makes it difficult to grab the gun due to the spare mag getting in the way. The only way I can see to fix this is to turn the holster upside down. The gun now faces correctly for right side carry and the spare mag is now positioned to the front and out of the way. OK but the Maxpedition label is upside down. I will probably cut the tag off but you pay for the name brand. It will work best for left side carry. Wish they made it for right side.
