I believe you can. Right under the hood it saids what kinda automatic transmission fluid you should use. On my 2004 infiniti g35 coupe it was under hood yellow sticker indicating that I should use just specific fluid.

oem is usually best

Repeat, oem product that is priced high and is still available so far. matic- s is supposed to have taken its place but at 150,000+ why change with not a minute of transmission problems what so ever.

Always a good bet to go OEM on fluids that run this long between changes. Not the place to cut corners on cost if you don't have to. That being said, I've never had a problem in the past going generic. In this case, since was doing the transmission as well and it specifies Nissan Matic-D or you void your warranty....
