I'm not really the target audience for this shampoo (white and male), but I've been having lots of issues with hair breakage once I started growing my hair out, as well as the contradiction of having hair that is straight but also curly once it reaches a certain length. My previous hair care routine revolved around argan oil and I was very underwhelmed.I switched to Carol's Daughter back in November and my hair is in much better shape. I still lose just as many strands as before, but I have noticeably more volume and my curls are much more intact. I'm getting compliments on my hair again, which is nice. Another benefit is that the scent is wonderful. I try to avoid scents in my hygiene products but this time I decided to deal with it, and I'm glad I did. It smells like how summer feels.

UPDATE: I used the shampoo and didn’t notice an unpleasant scent like I did when I opened it the first time. It left no residue after shampooing and left my hair in great condition so I do like it. Not as much as CD Monoi, but I would by it again.Older Review: I hate the smell!! It’s like a fake chemical smell. You cannot identify anything close to even describe it. I’m wondering if I received a fake product because I have used CD monoi shampoo for years which was pure, clean and smelled beautiful. Like monoi. When L’Oréal bought Carol’s daughter they discontinued monoi shampoo & conditioner and are putting out inferior products. If this black vanilla is really legit, I have zero clue why people like the scent. I cannot use this stuff.

I have thick, curly frizzy hair. Tangles very easy. When using the shampooing I was able to run my fingers through my hair and detangle without even using conditioner. I let my hair dry naturally. My hair was soft with less frizz after just one use!!
