Can you tuck the outside cover of the actual Bible tuck into this case or do you just place the Bible inside?

The back side tucks in the back cover of the bible. The front has a pocket and places for pens and highlighters. I use the pocket for the small journals you can get in 3 Our Daily Bread devotionals as well. This is by far my favorite cover ever! It's a great deal for the price. So far it's held up well I have been using it for about 6 months and it's still looking like new.

Will this fit a MacArthur study Bible?

I have a Beautiful Word Bible (large print) and it fits (with notebook and pens inside as well)

Will it fit a book size 5.5 x 0.75 x 8 inches

I don’t know for sure. My Bible Binding measures 9 1/2x 6 3/8x 1”. (I believe the depth of my Bible would easily fit that part of the cover). It was the LENGTH of my Bible that would not fit into the inside sleeve (Without fitting into this sleeve, my Bible fit fine!) But I’ve passed the Bible Cover on to a friend so I no longer can make an actual review. Sure hope this helps
