Tough tool
I had my eye on this for awhile. I had a SOG Power Pint which impressed me quite a bit, but was on the small side for general use, and the Power Access Deluxe looked pretty much like a full grown Power Pint. So i decided to buy one if for no other reason than to satisfy my curiosity. One thing the SOG tools have is that compound leverage applied to the pliers. I'm getting older and am loosing some grip strength and the grip these things bring to bear is pretty awesome. I have always viewed any brand multi tool as a jack of all trades sort of a thing, pretty handy for lots of stuff, but not necessarily ideal for any one particular task. In this vein I do not mind that the knife blades, file, and saw are somewhat on the small size. If I need them for something other than a light task, I am usually close enough to something else better. For instance, I ALWAYS have a GOOD, sharp sturdy knife in my pocket, and various other tools close to hand in my ATV. I also liked that they came with dual bit driver options and a decent bit kit. The pouch is pretty decent too. but I carry horizontal, so the belt loops are a bit small, but they work. The only real gripe I have with this tool lies with the idiot who did the final assembly. The pivot screws were far too tight to be adequately loosened. I did get them to back off a little, making the tool transfer from being too tight to use to being usable, but still needs to be a bit looser. There was far too much torque applied with too much thread locker used in the bargain. The pivot screws are of a far too soft material and I'm afraid they will strip if I use any more effort, and YES I do have driver bits of the proper size and dimension and I did use a vise to secure the tool. The design should have included, as a no brainer choice, to use a captive screw where only one side needs to be manipulated. I have yet to decide whether or not to send it to SOG. Those screws may well have to be drilled out, or the tool recycled and replaced. Overall, aside from this, it is a solid, sturdy, adequately well designed tool which has served me well as a daily use edc multi tool.

My EDC multitool
Very impressed with the quality of this multi-tool. It feels sturdy in your hand, the tools open and operate smoothly, and it has a really useful selection for everyday jobs. Itโs compact enough to keep nearby without taking up much room but still feels substantial enough for real work. Great tool to have around.

Incredibly well designed tool.
I am a huge multitool nut. This thing might just be my new highest recommended multitool. Great array of tools. This is going to beat my Signal as my EDC. It will also be a great companion to my Dual Force. Pros: Gearing the Pliers and integrating a bit driver into the mechanism and striking surface for the chisel when in a closed position. The ways to handle using and storing standard 1/4 bits I have seen yet. At first some of the tools felt narrow because of the locking mechanism, but that might actually add up some bonus weight savings Cons: Wire cutters aren't replaceable. Unlocking mechanism takes up a lot of space which could have been used for bigger tools, improving handle comfort and reducing the cost of making a complex part. Some of thee tools are hard to pull out and could use bigger fingernail notches. Areas to improve: Integrated Phillips should be No 2 and not No1 Saw and file could have been a little longer. Gears are slightly proud The lock release mechanism needs to be simplified. I love the way by Signal has a flat design for the 1/4 bit. If that isn't a patent that style could be integrated for even more space saving. The bit holder could easily be modified to function as bike tire removal tools. There is room to sneak a cable cutter when closing the pliers even if it would only cut ends. If this just had an engageable spring open for the pliers it would be practically perfect.

Works well enough.
Feels cheap compared to a Leatherman but itโs nice to have in a pinch and it does work.

Good gift for the boyfriend / Hubs!
I bought the SOG PowerAccess Deluxe Multi-Tool as a gift for my boyfriend, and he hasnโt stopped raving about it since. The build is solid and heavy-duty, with a sleek black finish that looks just as good as it feels in hand. It comes loaded with useful tools: two knife blades, pliers, a can opener, bottle opener, multiple screwdrivers, hex bits, and a durable nylon sheath to keep everything organized. What really stands out is how versatile it is, heโs already used it for little repairs around the house, tightening screws, opening packages, and even popping open a bottle. Heโs genuinely impressed by how smooth and reliable each tool feels, especially compared to other multi-tools heโs tried before. I wasnโt sure if this would be โjust another gadget,โ but itโs quickly become one of his everyday essentials. If youโre looking for a gift thatโs practical, well-made, and guaranteed to be appreciated, this is a fantastic choice. My boyfriend loves it, and honestly, I think anyone who enjoys being hands-on, prepared, or just likes having a reliable tool close by would too.

Deluxe tool
I bought this tool for my son for his birthday to replace the one he lost. He uses it everyday for work and promised me he wouldn't put on the fender of his car again! ๐

Pretty neat multi-tool! Pretty sure it was used sold as new, though.
Before we get to the tool itself, the condition it came in was what left me upset. The box was seemingly un-tampered with, but the tool itself showed signs of use. I bought it new, but this looks like it was repackaged in new packaging. The tool had scratches and dings and other signs of wear in some places. There were fingerprints visible through the plastic before I even opened it (I dropped it out of the packaging onto my bed, just the tool, before touching it with my own hands, and my suspicion was confirmed... fingerprints). The bits had fuzz on them as if they fell on someone's floor and were picked up and put back in their holder (again, I didn't let this fall out when I dumped the tool on my bed). There was a sticky substance on the jaws of the pliers, and it was certainly not oil. It felt and smelled more like thick maple syrup that had dried for weeks. So I'm very wary of this seller now (Camofire), despite their overall positive reviews. (On further inspection, many of those reviews look like they were written by bots, haha) On to the actual product, though. It's alright. It has a bunch of cool features in a single, solid package. The locking mechanism is a little *too* good, but that's not inherently bad. What IS bad is the carrying pouch it comes with. That thing is flimsy and does not hold the tool tightly or securely. I'll definitely be keeping this thing in a different one. The bits are fine, but I'll be using a more complete set that I already have around. The pliers are solid and sturdy, and the various tools in the handle are all good. The standard knife blade is sharp, but not fine; I prefer my knives sharper but it's good enough for daily use, and I'm experienced enough in sharpening that I can make do when it dulls down. However, I'm really not impressed with the fact that when closed up, the handles don't align, and are slightly off-center. I expected better from SOG, even in a potentially pre-owned/used product. It doesn't wobble or bend, it's sturdy... almost as if assembled off-kilter to begin with. Can't tell for sure, but it irks me like no other. But in the end, it's about function, not fashion, so I'll be curious how it holds up. I gave this thing a decent test run after work today, and it functions fine, so I'll be keeping it. Hopefully my opinion doesn't change in the coming weeks while it really gets taken through the gauntlet on the job.

No regrets
First I was hesitant to purchase this tool, despite of the bad review on multitool forums, I carry on. Functionality wise, you canโt beat the 21 tools in it. For practicality you can do everything like a Surge can do, like cutting thick gauge wire is an ease, the lack of having the convenience of a scissors in which you can also do with the sharp blade. Innovation are superb. I am an aircraft line mechanic so screw bit changing for various aircraft models is a breeze. For the quality of material, I believe it is made from galvanize steel. I am still in the process of beating this bad boy. So far it wonโt let me down. Before there was Leatherman Free P4, there was sog a balisong like accessing the plier, and it isnโt magnetic so no worries of metal fillings accumulation. Plus you wonโt knock your finger opening this, like the one I saw on youtube. Downside is the accessing the middle tools, such as the can opener, even if you unlatched the lock mechanism it is still hard to pry it out. But Iโll be use to it. The importance is that I have The most tools that I need in my waist, without coming back and fort to my toolbox. I say the price is reasonable for the innovations that it offers. If i am going to choose between a gerber and a sog, definitely I will go with the sog. Edit update tip: do you know you can slightly loosen the torx screw holding the tools? Viola 100 percent one hand operation! Tools will drop automatically when you release the locking mechanism, from there you can choose the tools by your thumb.

Decent set of pliers along with a decent knife
The important blades lock, it also comes with a socket adapter to help fit a range of hex drive bits, the female hex drive holder where the tool folds also increases versatility. Got my 1st sog in 1994, power plier. Still have it but it's pretty worn out.
