Can this adjust to punch 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 paper with 3 holes? (half sized)

You can adjust this hole punch to a number of sizes. It took me awhile to figure out, but I actually removed two of the five "punchers" and from there you can adjust the others to any distance you desire. I use mine to punch wholes in 8 1/2 by 11" paper cut in half for supplemental readings provided by my professors. In other words, the typical sheet of paper turned horizontally "landscape" and cut in half.

How close together can you space the punches? i need 6 holes on 8.5" by 5.5" paper oooooo

The closest the holes can be is just under 1" center to center.

The home diameter of the punch heads always 11/32? Exist a a lower diameter?

The model 525M is the "medical punch" which has 11/32" holes. If you want 9/32" holes, select the 1325B. It is basically the same punch except it is black and has three punch heads. Up to 4 more punch heads can be added, part number 1025B.
