Ugly Stik Complete Spincast Reel and Fishing Rod Kit

We recently relocated to a home on an Intracoastal Waterway and needed a sturdier rod and reel setup for fishing from our dock. After using this Ugly Stik Complete Spincast Combo, I was impressed enough to order a second one. For anyone looking for an affordable saltwater-ready setup, this is a great value. The combo comes pre-spooled with 20 lb test monofilament line, which I would consider appropriate for light-to-medium-duty saltwater fishing. It's ready to fish right out of the box, which is always a nice bonus. The reel has been smooth and reliable, and the rod has the solid feel and durability that Ugly Stik products are known for. The balance between strength and sensitivity is good, allowing me to feel bites while still having enough backbone to handle stronger fish around docks and pilings. I've been using this setup primarily to target sheepshead that congregate around our dock pilings, and it has performed very well. The rod has enough power to pull fish away from structure while still being enjoyable to fish. Considering the performance, included line, and overall quality, I think this combo offers excellent value for the money. At around the $45 price point, it's hard to find much to complain about. Overall, this is a dependable, affordable fishing combo that performs well, feels great in hand, and offers far more value than its price would suggest.

This rod has been great so far. Compact design makes it easy to store and carry around, it seems durable, operation is smooth and it is very light and easy to use . If it dose break I would buy another.

Gotta love ugly stick

Easy to set up for myself and my kids. We figured it out quick and had a great fishing day. A little heavy for my 9 year old but still worth it.

Works fine, actually

It's always hard purchasing online especially when it's involves something like sports equipment You kind of have to have that product in your hand to really feel it, so is the case of my ugly stick/spinning reel combo purchase. Advertised as a saltwater outfit I feel the rod falls short of being a sturdy rod I would expect of a salt water rod, the reel on the other hand without actually using it I'm quite pleased with it, it's a smooth and sturdy reel complete with line. To recap I feel the reel is an excellent deal as far as the rod goes I'd be much happier with a little longer and sturdier rod. And give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars

Good rod, bought for catfishing, but im not crazy about the collapsible feature. Feels like this could be a weak spot for a potential failure. This would be better with a solid shaft.
