Skeptic no more!
I was elated to find a pure, organic purple yam powder without any fillers or coloring, but wasn't sure how Ube would come out with this. I have to admit I was skeptical it would taste like the ube I love, but I successfully made an organic, additive free ube that tastes DELICIOUS! I have to admit I was a little surprised. I've made ube from the frozen purple yams and from the Ube mix at the Filipino stores, but this will be my go to from here on out! I was also thinking I would use the whole bag for a batch but I didn't at all so I think it's a good value as well. It seems those saying it had no flavor were expecting ube, but purple yams are just the main ingredient of ube, not ube itself. And it yam is a starch so yes its going to be gritty in certain recipes/drinks. Look up a recipe for Ube Hayala (Ube Jam) and enjoy all the possibilities!

Using for coloring my baked goods!
I was pleasantly surprised this worked great in turning my cookies an awesome halloweeny purple color! They didnโt brown too much in the oven and kept that beautiful purple color. Canโt wait to use it in my sourdough loaves! Thanks. The package was smaller then I anticipated but thatโs on me for not reading the OZs of the package size

Adds a pretty color with natural ingredients :D
Adds a fantastic color to frosting and doesn't change the flavor. I used it to achieve a lavender color in cream cheese frosting and it worked perfectly. It has the same texture/consistency as powdered sugar so it blended well.

Pure Purple Sweet Potato Powder
I know there are a lot of fake purple sweet potato flavorings and powder available, but I was so happy that this one had no filler ingredients. The color is vibrant. The flavor is definitely there, but if you are looking for something more intense, it may be a good idea to get this for color and use another ube extract for that extra punch of flavor. Will definitely buy again.

The flavor is really good.
Employing it in my sourdough bread-making venture, this ingredient infused a delightful purple hue into the final product. According to my husband, the bread exhibited a hint of sweetness, enhancing the overall flavor profile. However, I have noticed cautions about potential staining concerns, suggesting careful consideration of the ingredient's impact on color and taste, and the need for a thorough evaluation before incorporating it into recipes, despite its positive contributions to aesthetics and flavor."

Purple Sweet Potato is not Taro
I wish I read the reviews... Whatever the algorithm is to get this product in a search for taro should be fixed. The product is fine but is NOT EVEN CLOSE to taro. It is sweet potato that happens to be purple. The more you addto a recipe, the more sweet potato you get. And the if the receipe is something you cook with an egg, like pancakes, it goes blue. Again, it's not a bad product necessarily but don't be foolish thinking it's taro.
