Great for small pills.
I have to give my cat seizure medicine every day. The pills are really small but I put them in capsules to make it easier for her to swallow. I had larger ones from this same company so decided to try these to make it even better for her. They are so small and work awesome for her needs.

PERFECT for Cats! Raving Review! 10 Stars!
Update: The slightly larger size 4 capsules are even better! They are a hair larger than the size 5s but still tiny enough for a cat's mouth. Still using these capsules and love them!!! Attention all cat parents! These capsules are a lifesaver! My very feisty 5-year-old cat, Jumpy, was just diagnosed with heart disease (cardiomyopathy) & needs to take 1/4 tab each of Atenolol & Plavix (clopidogrel) every day. Having 7 cats, I'm a great piller! But forcing quartered pills down Jumpy's neck was a nightmare & a half. I was literally scratched, bleeding, & exhausted from trying to give these 2 little pills. When I would finally get him to take the pill, he would foam at the mouth, gag, & then throw it up. I looked into getting the meds compounded but it would cost me $120/month which was way out of the budget. I started mixing the Atenolol with water in an eye dropper, but you can't do that with the Plavix (per the manufacturer, I think because it is such a bitter-tasting pill & the water would make the taste worse). Jumpy doesn't like wet food or cat treats so I couldn't disguise the pills there. Desperate for another solution, I looked into these capsules. Believe me when I say that they are truly my saving grace. I ordered the size 5 & they are the perfect size for my very petite cat. I was worried that the capsule would be too big for a tiny cat mouth, but I promise you that the size 5 will work just fine. I put the 1/4 tab of Atenolol in the capsule first (tiny pill). Then I add the Plavix. The 1/4 tab of Plavix is just barely too big to fit, so I cut the 1/4 in half (1/8) & then put them in the capsule & close it. I make 1-2 weeks of the capsules at a time so that I don't have to do it each day. Armed with my large plastic eye dropper filled with water, I get Jumpy, put the capsule in his mouth, & then shoot some water down his throat to wash it down. The capsule can get a little sticky when wet (use dry hands!), so I want to make sure that it goes all the way down his throat & he doesn't choke. He can't taste the bitterness of the pill thanks to the capsule, so there is no foaming, gagging, or throwing up. These capsules make it so easy! I even tried a plain capsule myself to make sure would be okay for my cat. There was no taste & it dissolved pretty quickly. PLEASE do yourself a favor & get these if you have a cat like mine who doesn't like pills!

Especially for PET / CAT Caregivers … size 4 & 5 comparison
See photos for visuals: (1) - size #5 is smaller than size #4; (2) - capsules are shown in their fully assembled smallest form, bagged caps are only loosely assembled; (3) - meds shown for comparison are a halved (& then positioned as whole) 5mg Prednisolone tablet and a human 100mg vitamin soft gel; (4) - due to pred. pill girth the 4mg size is needed to encapsulate; (5) - the size #5 is definitely easier for a cat to swallow BUT most pill popper tools better hang onto the size #4 without needing help; (6) - help I use with great success is a small smear of butter (real butter) which serves three purposes: 1. helps hold capsule in place in popper, 2. helps lube capsule down throat - probably better than a bit of water or food due to how gel caps get sticky with only a small amount of liquid, the grease bypasses that stickiness, 3. tastes good so a poorly placed capsule still has a decent chance of going down.; (7) - getting both sizes #4 & #5 is probably not a bad idea if affordable but just #4 is probably easier if you aren’t wanting or planning to crush pills into powder. If that’s a plan or you definitely want the easiest to swallow then #5 is what you want; (8) - these are real gelatin protein capsules and will dissolve between 15-30 minutes and release their contents.; (9) - you don’t need any extra “tools” for filling & assembling these if you have average normal coordination with your hands and eyes; doing this is significantly much easier than for instance threading a needle; (10) - capsules aren’t fully assembled until the two halves “click” together and though they are together they can still be prised apart usually without breaking as needed; (11) - Getting highly visible capsules makes seeing &/or finding if a capsule actually went down the hatch or got spit back out. Buy colored caps rather than clear or white; (12) - yes, encapsulating tablets is far & away the best method for pilling a cat because it only takes one poor pilling episode where the full taste of a nasty tablet firmly lodges into your cat’s memory and every pilling attempt thereafter makes any difficulties you “thought” you had previously a walk in the park by comparison😩🤦

As described
These are nice capsules and make meds be easier for my Mom. These are small, brightly colored, easy to swallow. She has more than one pill that needs to be cut and they are so small, easy to lose or drop. These go right down the hatch! Since there are other colors, it makes keeping track easier. This size is quite small, and only the small bit of pill fits into it. This is small enough that you could probably pull a cat with it.

Game Changer For My Cat's Meds
Holy hell this was a game changer. My cat always fights me with her meds. She hates the taste of meds and will drool horribly when I give it to her. I've tried pill pockets and it didn't work. This capsule was not only the perfect size for her very small pill, she was able to swallow it without fighting me. It literally takes me like a good 5 minutes just to give her her meds. This capsule literally changed that time to 30 seconds with the pill dispenser I have for her. Im just glad I can finally help her in a more controlled and less traumatic way.

A life changer for Pets
We have used these to make pill pockets for our elderly dog. The dog steadfastly refused to take her medication, it was a battle to medicate the dog. Now it is painless, easy, simple and much less traumatic for the dog. We split the pill, put in the Capsule and the dog never bats an eye. Down the hatch it goes, no muss, no fuss. A Real Life Changer.

I struggled to feed my kitten her flu med, saw a reddit post that recommended using this to put the med into the capsule. It worked, covered the capsule with treats and my kitten inhaled the treat along with the capsule.
