Genuine chain. There is a huge amount of R&D and engineering that goes into a modern bike chain. This Shimano moves my Cube electric bike around all terrains without noise or slip. The provided link is engineered to perfection and will require careful squeezing, use decent chain pliers and enjoy the CLICK! These chains are lasting me 800 miles with heavy use as the norm. Bargain!

Horrible, I fitted it fine, same length as old chain, was fine, it ended up snapping on the first ride, wasn’t going fast or anything, normal speed and it snaps

don't throw your old chain before you open the pack
the chain itself is ok, however i was very disappointed to find there was no link to connect both ends, even though it shows a link in the advert, just as well i had the old one.

Replaced the chain on my vintage Nishiki Olympic 12. Had to remove a couple of links to shorten the chain, and it works like a champ.
