I was refurbishing a couple of older 'mini' tripods. and needed a new head to convert to AS. On the first, a Slik mini about 30 years old with no workable head, this head was a bit heavy for the tripod; it would work, but the balance was questionable. On the second, an older Velbon mini this head fit like it was meant for the job and is now permanently installed. Works great, I use this tripod with my Nikon 1 compact cameras and it is stable and the ball head allows for easy adjustment. I'm happy.I would recommend this head for consideration for anyone doing what I described. Every refurbish or update project is different. This ball head is smooth, locks tight, and has an rotating, degree marked base. It is quite easy to use.

Used this for my new camera with a 90 times zoom plus digital zoom. This was a lot easier to use and keep my subject framed at almost full zoom. Trying to keep up with the moon at that zoom (it moves fast) is a challenge without a tracker. This ball head made it easier to keep up. Nice and smooth.Very impressed for the price I paid.

The quality and function of this ball head are excellent. I was surprised at the level of fit and finish. The adjustments are smooth, and the ball head moves freely, and locks up well in any position. This is a great value, and matches or exceeds the quality of ball heads that cost significantly more.

I got this for a Heavy Duty tripod project. Had the frame but needed the ball for a spotting scope for Long Distance shooting. The ball is very sturdily built, and allows for very precise adjustments. Handled the weight of my scope nicely!TADA!

This is the second Artcise product I have purchased in recent months, following my purchase of an Artcise AS-95C carbon fiber tripod bundle I also purchased on Amazon. This ball head, like the tripod and accessories bundled with it, exude very high quality in design, build, and functionality from every angle. As I recall, the product literature says the name Artcise was chosen to reflect products that exemplify art and precision. This ballhead and the tripod with accessories I mention both earn the company branding. Very impressive, great price, and I highly recommend it.

Sturdy and good for the money.

Every now and then you are fortunate to stumble upon a product that you feel like you are stealing for the price paid. This ball head is one of those products.I needed a sturdy, low profile ball head for my CF Mono Pod. My criteria was compact, very well made with a design that makes for sturdiness and simplicity. I needed it to be responsive to minor changes in ball pressure for precise and predictable following of subjects. I also wanted it to be easy and intuitive to handle and control. A descent price is never a poor attribute for photo equipment.This ball head met all my expectations and not just barely, but surprisingly well. The big surprise was the price ... amazing.Anyone would be hard pressed to better this ball head for anything near the price paid.

This is perfect... sturdy... well-designed all around. SOLID and I highly recommend this over other ball-heads I have seen and used prior to this one. A+++++++

This is a great Ballhead that locks tight (even with a 3lbs telephoto lens and camera...another pound or so). I use this on a monopod and I like the fact that the ballhead is actually made from aluminum alloy. I had a very similar ballhead for a similar price and was very surprised to find the ballhead was actually made of plastic. It still locked tight but was not as solid where the Arca Swiss mount attached to the ballhead. This one is perfect. Just remember, the main locking handle can be moved to any position by pulling it out and repositioning if going vertical for example.

Note: this review is based on the November 2022 price of £7.90.I bought this thinking 'it's only for QR-mounting a 500g spotting scope on a bipod for rifle range use; doesn't have to do much for the money; and might get bashed'. So I was pleasantly surprised how robust this is, well machined and smooth to use. Granted, some surfaces are painted rather than anodised, but overall, astonishingly sturdy. Even too hefty, if you're into weight-saving carbon tripods ...Because the bipod itself has quite a range of adjustment I removed the clamp from the ball head and screwed the clamp directly to the bipod for a neat low profile. The QR plate is screwed to the scope with the supplied bolt, which has both a raise-and-turn ring and a flat screw head: full marks. The threads are well machined and the right length for a secure grip. The plate has the two end-stop screws as per Arca standard. The clamp has a level bubble and its alloy clamp screw both turns smoothly, and stays put. The ball head is alloy with two knobs to adjust rotation and tension via a (plastic) insert. Box includes a hex key for the plate to ball-head bolt, thread adapter insert flat screwdriver, and three thread adapters.I have (had) beautifully made big name tripod ball heads (Manfrotto, 3LT) which cost 10x as much but aren't 10x better. For the cost of just a cheap Arca-compatible plate you're getting a perfectly useable plate, clamp and ball head. Delivery was very fast. The ball head is well made, looks great and seems strong. Its low profile means its much lighter than many others, but with same functionality. Recommended.
