Does the SW go into standby mode so when you play the Receiver, it starts up ?

You manually have to toggle between modes including standby.

Can i connect the subwoofer directly to a tv?

You can, but... those original speakers inside the TV (mostly) will be muted if you choose the subwoofer/external speakers to "speak" !

Is this subwoofer compatible with samsung soundbar model hw-f450?
