Borla Ford Mustang GT 5.0L 15-17 ATAK Cat-Back Exhaust, 140591

Excellent delivery time packaged very carefully installed very easily and sounds absolutely wonderful with no crazy droning noise definitely wakes up the car a little bit combined with a few other goodies this exhaust system is able to produce some decent horsepower. Has a real nice sound to it.

Here is my complete review of the Borla ATAK cat back for my 2016 Mustang GT. I have had it now for about 2 weeks. I will list the pros and cons of the system to include instal and personal feelings around the system.Cons:-Instal needs 2 people-adjustments of the system have to constantly be made as the bolt on tends to need adjusting after driving. Had to move and adjust today as the tip and muffler got to close to the valance.-cold starts are loud. Even in the summer they are loud and last for at least 30 secs. Not sure what that will translate to in the winter yet. This is my biggest concern honestly and makes me question the system I chose.-aggressive sound is at low RPMs as you are excelerating even at a slow pace. You can co trol it but it can get loud, just as asvertised. Not sure how I feel about long term situation.- can get loud if you cruise above 80 in the cabin. Not a huge issue unless you live in the south and use the 95 to get to work and drive around 85. I side cabin noise will be higher than average.Pros:- was able to instal with a jack and stands and instructions were easy to follow.- revs sound amazing and aggressive just the way I wanted them.- no drone at cruising. When I am doing 70 there is barely any sound being heard or vibration which is great.- people now hear me coming and turn their head when I drive by which is what this car was missing.

After looking at several different exhausts system, I decided to buy the Borla Atak. I do not regret buying it. This has to be one of the best sounding exhausts for the Mustang GT. Will definitely make your mustang stand out.

First I need to mention only buy this exhaust if you want a loud raspy sound, this system is a little louder and raspier than the cat back system Borla makes for Ford Racing. Installation took me about 1 1/2 hours using ramps on the front tires and jack stands at the rear of the Mustang. Make sure if use front ramps they will clear the lower valance on your vehicle and you can lock the wheels from rolling off the ramps when you jack up the rear of the vehicle. One option is to use ratchet straps to keep the wheels locked to the ramps, or you can purchase ramps that have wheel chocks that can be fitted to the ramps to keep the wheels from rolling back. Just be safe use stands the are rated for your vehicle weight, you cant hear the exhaust if the vehicle crushes you. The system came with good instructions and there are a couple video's on-line showing how to install the system. The new rear independent suspension on the 2015 Mustang make the system a breeze to install. I removed the stock system by myself utilizing a jack under the factory resonator and the foam from the packaging the new Borla exhaust came with. I installed the Borla system starting with the X pipe and working my way to the rear of the vehicle, snugging the clamps not tightening them. When I had all the pieces of the exhaust in place I had my daughter hold one side at a time to align the tip with the rear valance and I tightened the clamps and the center hangers. After every thing was installed a tightened I wiped the hole system down with a rag and alcohol to remove any grease or finger prints. One thing I did do before installing the exhaust was layout the system in my garage and the removed the L & R stickers and residue before installing the system. Under acceleration you are going to hear this exhaust (along with everyone else with in a couple blocks), driving at low rpm's you barely hear it and there is no drone at all on the highway in 6th gear.

Installation was so easy all you need is 2 bricks blocks, a floor jack, and a couple of ratchets. Car sounds great. Was shipped supe quick. The only knock is that I wish I had bought the 3".
