Odd question. I would guess since this isn't to be used or applied to anything living BUT to non-living furniture, it hasn't been tested on animals. It works pretty well on my 100 year old oak furniture.

Can i use it on wooden serving spoons, etc and bowls without washing it off

Lemon oil is toxic.... Only use pharma grade Mineral Oil (get it at any pharmacy or Amazon) on any wooden surface that comes in contact with food. I was told this years ago when refinishing a wooden Butcher Block Table, and I spoke to butcher block Mfr.

Does it contain any wax?

I do not believe it does contain wax. It cleans and is an oil but I don't think it has wax in it. It also does not say on the bottle.

Does it leave a sheen? My table has a light lacquer finish and looks natural with no shine. I don't want it to shine.

It is an oil so it leaves a shine. I have never used it when it didn't make an old piece of furniture look better. I put it on, leave it overnight and wipe it down with a soft cloth. It also keeps old wood from drying out and splitting. I put it on the back of the furniture to see how it looks before using it on the whole thing. I highly recommend it. Patricia
