Well I am writing this having not experienced the full effects of it yet...I just received it today, and I am drinking it now. I love Garden of Life products, that is why I ordered it and I like everything about what it contains. I mixed a scoop with probably more like 10 oz of water with about 2 oz of almond milk (says to mix with 8 oz water, I don't measure). Some people will not like the taste I'm sure because it does taste very vegetative, almost like "dirt" but in a good way (if you know what I mean, some will!). It tastes FRESH, to me, and like it's good for me! hahhaa I like it, it is made with actual cocoa powder and a bit of stevia so I'm sure that helps. It only has 35 calories so should not be used to replace all meals but I will be using it to replace one meal, probably, or even for a snack when I need energy. I will update this tomorrow after also trying it in a smoothie with yogurt, banana, almond milk, coconut oil and ice but without the typical protein powder I use. UPDATING NOW! About an hour after drinking my first try of this stuff, I literally felt an almost surge of energy and good tidings. Really! hahaha sounds silly but I'm not kidding, I haven't felt this good in a long time, honestly. I can't wait to see how I feel when I really integrate this into my new eating and lifestyle habits. I don't have a juicer, can't afford that. I'm not the most lazy person I know but I am quite often loathe to actually make a raw smoothie with veg and such, and if one bought all these great ingredients separately, even if it was possible to, one would spent a ****ton of money and also have large quantities of product that could go bad. Some would say this is expensive for a not huge container of a powdered drink. I might even have said that, but I took the plunge and ordered it on the strength of Garden of Life's reputation and my experience with their stuff. Very pleased so far, and it's only been one day. UPDATE Dec.21, 2013: Still loving this stuff. I do smoothies with a banana, some yogurt, almond milk, frozen fruit like blueberries, this stuff and a scoop of protein powder. Love it!

First, I paid full price for this (someone tell me how to get FREE stuff!). Second, on Amazon it was literally HALF the cost that it was in the health food store I purchased the first bottle from. That said, this stuff is AWESOME! It tastes great, mixes up very smooth and not gritty--as long as you can shake it vigorously a few times--so use a bottle with a tight lid. As far as the taste, I am used to eating pretty healthy (lots of greens) and low sugar and I use stevia all the time , and eat raw cacao nibs--both used to flavor this drink. If you start drinking this from a McDonald's or processed food diet, you might not think it tastes good at first. The typical American diet is full of sugar and salt and high fructose corn syrup and MSG. So flavors are "souped" up. This stuff is very natural tasting. Now, the way it makes me feel--healthy. I have several autoimmune disorders and some digestive issues. This stuff really soothes my tummy and just makes me feel....better, for lack of a good description. It's nothing that's overt. But my skin is better, my sleep is a little better, I am a little more calm and happy and maybe less fatigued. And the best benefit, and the reason I started taking it, is that it raises my ph. I am too acidic and that is not a healthy state. (graphic alert) It also cleans me out--naturally and easily. No diarrhea, no constipation, just very easy bm's several times per day! Love this product!

I ordered this on Prime at 10pm and received it the next morning by 6am! That is fast. I ordered the Chocolate based on reviews. This version does have Stevia, which does have an aftertaste, but without it, I think it would be very bitter. I may try the non stevia version just as a comparison. I added Spinach and half a frozen banana, over almond milk, and the taste was good! I have ordered Shilajit, Frankincense, Noni and spirulina all of which taste TERRIBLE. Seriously difficult to choke down, so when you combine ingredients that are inherently good for you, the taste isn't going to align with most of the items we insert into our mouths on a daily basis, so my recommendation is to go with whatever flavor palate you align with. Chocolate is good and you can add whatever you want to improve upon both the taste and nutritional intake. There were many complaints about the volume in the container, so I was pleased with the volume, see image, which was close to the top. The scoop is buried at the bottom, and there is no fishing that out without pulling most of the powder with it, so I used my measuring tablespoon and add a half more, but will reduce to one tablespoon moving forward. The scoop will reveal itself in time. All in all I am very pleased with this and looking forward to consuming this on a daily basis.

First... yes, I know that a LOT of people talk about how bad the taste is, (even if it has a dose of chocolate in it). To keep this review short & simple, let me just say that it is a known fact that the more tasty something is the worse (or more fat) it has in it... thus... since this stuff "tastes like" a dirty fish-tank... with chocolate... (lol), it has to be REALLY healthy!!!!! Ha ha. Seriously though, as a health & fitness coach, I really recommend this stuff. Without getting into all the reasons, suffice to say this is a good product. A bit of advice I'd give anybody who has trouble drinking this stuff: 1) First, make sure you DON'T mix a scoop with any MORE than 8 oz of water, (pref less, only so you have less to drink & it makes the chocolate taste a bit stronger). 2) Second, make sure you THOROUGHLY stir / mix the powder into the water, (you'll see it start to foam on top when it's mixed pretty well... though it'll still be a bit gritty at the bottom). 3) Third, (& this is purely optional), try mixing a BIT of raw sugar, agave, or whatever sweetener you pref., (& I'm not going to get into a debate / argument with people about sugar being "bad", etc.. I'm only suggesting, again, a BIT / DASH of sweetener, for one, & I firstly stated this this was YOUR OPTION. I've tried it & it's not bad, but not my pref.). 4) And last... drink it fast!!! Drink it before it has a chance to separate from the water again. Like I said earlier though, this stuff will still want to separate at the bottom, so I just add about another 1 to 2 oz of water to kill off the last bit. Hope my method helps some people because I think this stuff is really helpful to a person's body in the long run... but that's just my two cents. Cheers!

The blend of ingredients is good. Everything is organic and of high quality. It will give your body what it needs, but like anything else, it is not a miracle supplement. Make it part of your exercise routine and you will see better results. HOWEVER..... The flavor is awful. I certainly suggest mixing it with a smoothie or plugging your nose and just chugging it. I respect the natural ingredients and not adding any junk to make it sweeter. This should not stop you from getting it, but just be ready to find a base that works for you. UPDATE: I mix this now with my protein and whole milk. The taste has diluted a lot and it’s respectable now. I added a star to 5 overall. I do not want to knock it for being all organic. Find the blend that works best.

EDIT 7/2/2019 - One Star Rating EARNED by #GardenOfFail Garden of Life directed me to send a DM to them on Twitter. I did so on 6/3/2019. 2 weeks go by without a response. I called them out on that, saying that their tweet did not age well. They responded by blocking me. Avoid Garden of Life if you prefer to not reward a company who actively tries to bait-and-switch/rip customers off by reducing the measuring cup size and/or actual content within the packages. This is an ongoing problem with these deceptive people - read the reviews to see others having found this problem, too. Time to move on to a company that deals with its customers with integrity, honor and respect. ===================================== Original Review: Garden of Life is proving to be a deceptive / untrustworthy company. In my latest container of this product, I noticed that the serving scoop was reduced from 25cc to 20cc but there was nothing on the label to explain the sudden and tangible change in serving size. This is not the first time that they've pulled this sort of stunt over the years. The flavor and blending capability of the Perfect Food Chocolate flavor is excellent. I mix is with the Raw Organic Chocolate protein powder (which has been undergoing its own dishonest/deceptive transition toward smaller serving size at the same price point to expand GoL's greedy reach into our pockets. Garden of Life's representatives should be embarrassed by their management's decision to utilize underhanded and dirty tactics to mislead and misinform its customers. Shameful.

I workout daily, eat very clean, (anti inflammatory diet), and make protein shakes after my workouts. I started doing my own finger pricks and using tests from Everlywell type places and it took FOREVER to get the blood amount needed. I had been told in the past my blood was thick. I started doing reading on what I could do to thin my blood a little. I definitely do not want a blood clot! While i don’t think this is a total cure, since adding this to my shakes I’ve taken blood tests and it’s become a lot easier to get the amount of blood needed. It’s not dripping uncontrollably (as in very thin), but it’s not as thick as it was before adding this to my shakes. I’ve also noticed more energy, skin is clearer and my vitamin levels are better! I looked at a lot of brands, a lot, and I decided to get this one for a few reasons. I’ve had good luck with the brand Garden of Life. I know their products are clean and do not come with added fillers. The list of digestive enzymes, probiotics, vitamins, and other items were more than other brands. The only items I wish it had that some other green juices include is moringa, Spirulina, chlorophyll and chlorella. Instead, I add these separately. I got the chocolate flavor. Alone I am not a fan at all. When added to my shake I can still taste it a little but not as much. I’m not a fan of the flavor. If I were to take this alone I’d definitely get the original.
