Super simple but you will likely have to cut it down
So I don't like marring the paint on a brand new bike that someone just spent $3,000 on and oddly bike manufacturers are missing out on a simple little accessory.So I don't know if you can tell him the pictures but it was a really straightforward install on my bike I did have to cut the leg down and I do recommend you measure before you install it on the bike but realistically it took about 7 minutes to complete the process.

way too short for my mountain bike 26"
I had this kind of kickstand on this bike before. I was afraid this would be too long. It's way too short. My bike rests so low that it tips over. I installed it properly. That part was very easy.

fits 26"/700c bike
bought this for my kids GT bike, small size, 26", 700c. It fits. The length is adjustable, doesn't even need to go the longest but one level down.

Solid expected to last long
Solid. Worked on mountain bike with 26" wheels and hybrid with 27" wheels. Strongly recommend over adjustable/telescopic models that don't last.
