I think it would cause problems and not be advised. The bracket helps the transfer of the vibrations, so it’s good to have.

I can see why it may look that way, but the plate absolutely cannot hold 2 of these units. There are two places you can place the unit, but the recommendation for max performance is that you place it on the outer most part of the bracket (the tip of the long side of the L)… Even if someone could find a way to drill them in on the same plate, I could see that being problematic for its performance, since the vibrations may be competing with each other. Best thing is to place a 2nd one at the other end of the sofa (for example). I wish I could provide the dimensions of the plate, but the unit is under our sofa. Maybe try deleting this question and then re-posting it with just the “What are the dimensions of the plate?” portion of your question, and you may have a more direct answer for that from someone else. Otherwise you can try emailing the manufacturer, Earthquake, website can be found from google.
