I bought this for a cruise and I can say that it definitely helped with sun protection in the Caribbean. <3 It isn't an automatic, which made it slightly unwieldy but its shape is just so dang pretty that I couldn't resist. It's a really great size. I'm plus sized and it was able to shield all of me from the bright tropical sun when I positioned it correctly, and it gave me a good amount of "get out of my personal bubble" space, despite the attention it garnered for me. I am not particularly feminine, but this made me feel girlish and pretty, PLUS it survived pretty brutal handling, as I am not terribly delicate myself. It was a little long when just carrying around-- I'm 5 foot one, and it was a little too long to use like a walking stick when it was furled up, but normal-sized people won't have a problem. All in all, it was sturdy in the tropical winds and if I need another color or style, I will not hesitate to buy from the same seller, either!

Being sensitive to the sun, and living in an area with hot summers, I like to carry a parasol on sunny days to protect my skin. I was looking for a new one, and this one caught my attention right away. Its super cute, it suits my own style, and its very well made; it has a steel frame that doesn't bend or bow in the wind. Although its listed as a parasol/umbrella, I don't use it in the rain, as I don't want the delicate trim along the top of it to get wet. As I just needed a parasol though, it suits my purpose perfectly. Its great for those who are sensitive to the sun, like me, in addition to being a lovely and unique fashion accessory.

I get so many compliments on this parasol. It's beyond adorable. It provides excellent shade against the harshest desert sunlight, and I've also taken it out in some light drizzles to great effect. Please note that this is a rather large, heavy parasol: it's too big for my 80-lbs child to handle comfortably. I have to rest it against my shoulder or my hands get tired keeping it upright. I feel like smaller adults may be overwhelmed by it. On the bright side, you'll look so cute while overwhelmed.

I think the best part about this umbrella is how sturdy it is. Due to the fact that in order to open it you have to slide the runner really far up the shaft, the ribs feel extremely rigid which would indicate brittleness, but the pipes themselves are actually quite strong. It comes with an easy release button on the runner, so there's not much strength required to get it to open or close. The ruching/ruffles on the actual canopy are made of something similar to, but more waterproof than, satin. I feel like some colors just don't match well with the black ruching, but black ruching on a black canopy looks just fine, so I recommend that color.

When your natural color is sun bleached, and your style icon is Morticia, but you're pool in your complex closes at sundown it puts one in quiet a predicament. Especially. When you are trying to be a caregiver to your off spring, and you can't hire a nanny in pastels. (Probably for the best she'd just marry my uncle and murder him for his assets.) If you must be out in day light, this parasol is the way that says, I used to be goth, and I'm holding onto my identity. All the while pulling off the mom thing. This parasol gets me all the stares at the pool or zoo as i cower beneath it's shade. at least it doesn't promote unnecessary human interaction. I notice it gets warm under it, but at least it protects against the sun's harshest rays. I also look fabulous doing so. 4 stars because the tips off the product keep popping off the frame.

Perfect for my tea party. Very pretty, durable, perfect length, worth the money and have no doubt it would be good for what it is made for. Lol I love the curved handle. Only complaint is that it took 5 days to get shipped, once shipped, it moved along quickly. Didn't think it would make it in time for the party.

I wanted to love her. I really did. She seemed to check all the boxes. Black: check. More Black: check. Kinda Fancy: check. Practical: check. Affordable: check. But this frilled frippery revealed herself to be a mere flight of fancy as soon as I removed her from the box she arrived in. To be sure, the listing from which I purchased her had been changed since I first encountered it, which is incredibly convenient, considering that the shady accessory I received doesn't feature an elegant wooden cane as her predecessor did. No, indeed, this frightfully frilled fraud arrives with a rather lackluster molded plastic handle. Her pencil-thin shaft - sorry, pencils aren't that thin, except for eyeliner pencils. Her eyeliner pencil-thin shaft looks like it wouldn't hold up to intense side-eye, never mind intense scrutiny. Her mechanism! Her mechanism, dear reader, I've seen collar store banana clips with more sturdy mechanisms. Barbie's Jeep has more sturdy mechanisms. Neither of those mechanisms is expected to withstand sudden gusts of wind or unannounced deluges. But this dainty disasterpiece poses as a shield against inclement weather, yet its mechanism is derived from a brittle plastic tube that barely supports a flimsy plastic lever - the ring on a water bottle is significantly stronger - which may or may not respond to one's coaxing to unlock the mechanism. I advise planning ahead when attempting that maneuver. Now the canopy. Oh, the canopy. If you squint, I mean really squint, she's actually very cute. Just don't go scrutinizing her, okay, or you may just find that she looks as though a drunken squirrel assembled her. Certainly, mine appears as though a drunken squirrel crafted her of sooty, hastily dyed cobwebs, yet, by some miracle, she manages to provide some protection from both sun and rain. I felt it wise to close her once the wind picked up, though not before a few of her rather pokey metal spoke tips lost their grip. So yes, she looks cute. Is she worth the $20.78 that I paid? No. So she's certainly not worth the $25.97 they're charging now (8/14/23). I would suggest that you take that money and buy a much nicer umbrella elsewhere, even if you have to pay a little more. It will be worth it. Hell, I'll even add examples here, when I have time.

Wonderful and whimsy umbrella! Love it so much. So many compliments. The only problem I am see with it that is that the metal pieces holding up the fabric do tend to come off but can be fixed with pliers ❤️
