This is amazing cast iron!
I bought this because my steak stone broke in two: had a natural stone that was gifted to us when we married, and it came with a stainless steel tray and wire support, plus lid. This was intended to go from oven to table, or from gas burners to table, as there’s a hole in middle of tray to allow for direct heat. Was great except I think either my stone had either: a hair crack when received, or cracked after first used, or maybe I didn’t properly season it, as well as maybe did use on too high heat, somehow it got shocked. Whichever it was, I had not used in a decade afraid of breaking it. I looked at it one day and said: wth, why have something I can’t use? Let’s try. Great steaks first time, btw. Second time as well. Except it broke right on that cracked like, mid bake, made a mess too. Now the stone can’t fit on the support anymore and I don’t even know what the stone was called to replace it. Cast iron to the rescue. A bit of research for a size that would fit snug inside my support, and I found an even better and perfect substitute! I love this cast iron plate, it’s perfect to sear steaks or anything you want sizzled, as long as you know how. We use cast iron a lot, so once seasoned well, you can do pretty much anything with this. It’ll fit four smaller 3 oz steaks, maybe an extra one to one side, not quite six of them. Or you can do 2 or 3 larger steaks. Probably fit only two T-bone, though I’ve not cooked T-bone on it yet. The ridges are perfect to leave grill marks on food. The flat side can cook anything else. If you like cast iron, and season properly, it’ll be virtually non-stick, once heated through. The great news for me, is I don’t have to throw away my tray and lid, I can technically serve this at my table, so it stays warm undiluted ready without overcooking (should pull steaks out of oven on rare side anyway to get a medium-rare steak), 2-3 minutes per side to get grill marks. Another plus it can go with you on vacation or you can use it on grill outside. Clean us is fairly easy once it’s cooled off. Thumbs up for me. Price was just right, arrived quickly too!

reliability and function
A nice grill that fits The Weber Go Anywhere Grill perfect. It takes a little longer to heat up but not a deal breaker must be seasoned often usually after each use. Retains heat well when preheating.

A must have
I use this a lot when I turn on the grill. Great for veggies so you don’t have to worry about them falling in the cracks. I’ve also used this a couple of time while out camping and it did what I expected it to. Would recommend this product.

Grill
I did not realize that there were holes in the sides and it made a real mess when cooking. I do not see them in pictures or descriptions.

Good value
Good value for a well made cast iron griddle and fits well over the side burner on my grill if I don't want to use it over the main burners.

Good value
We love these cast iron grill plates,we noticed how much better burger cook on our outside grill plates tasted than just on grill wire top burgers are more juicy because burgers moisture doesn't run off leaving a dry blah burger,we use them on pork, chicken and steak

Does what it says
Excellent addition to an outdoor grill. I have heard that direct flame on meat isn't good for you. With this product I still get the grilled flavor without the direct flame on the meat.

Works great on top of BBQ grates
Placed directly on top of existing BBQ grill/grate. 2 holes at end allow drainage of grease. Good quality/substantial weight. Great for burgers.

Great and non-stick but reaches medium heating temp. for the Weber Q1000 BBQ
Griddle works as expected and is non-stick after following seasoning instructions. I also don’t have issues if I oil the porcelain directly prior to cooking. This griddle works best under direct heat/flame. I bought this for my Weber Q1000; it fits on the grates well, but I am disappointed it could not reach a high searing temp. after pre-heating for 15m at max. My BBQ grates will be searing hot while the griddle is at a medium heating temp. On the BBQ, it cooked eggs, sausage, and bacon fine but fresh hash browns was just too slow—similar story when trying to brown steaks. If your BBQ can reach high temperatures and can properly heat the griddle, I’d still recommend this purchase. I used aluminum foil to plug the holes and make little cups under the griddle. When I heated it with direct flame indoors from the stove top, it worked amazing and reached the searing temp. I wanted for burgers. I am happy with this purchase, but what I can do indoors, I just cannot repeat on my Weber Q1000.

Perfect small BBQ griddle
This griddle is a perfect fit for the small Weber Q (Baby Q, Q1200 etc...). Its thick and was held up over the summer and fall. I've found it to be very nonstick and didn't do any seasoning but, like any cast iron, you have to give it plenty of time to preheat before putting food on it. I also try too cook sausages or bacon regularly to ensure lots of grease soaks in. Never clean with anything but warm water. Lastly, the holes are there because its designed to use in a bbq and not on your stove. They work great for allowing excess grease to leave the pan and get caught in your bbq grease catch. Highly recommended!
