Perfect barrier for small pets, polite larger dogs, or a bit of added safety near stairs
I LOVE this gate and have actually bought 2 for different uses as I needed this both for keeping pets in a secure area when visitors were going in and out, and for reminding an elderly relative to keep a safe distance from the stairs (he's a fall risk). Before finding this gate, I had bought various others that were much more expensive and there was always something that didn't quite fit my needs. I needed gates that could fit in wide spaces, were easy to open and close, looked nice, were super easy to install, didn't have a bar on the floor which could trip people, and were able to be customized for my needs (I have a cat and a dog, so I wanted to customize one gate to keep both pets secure when needed). These gates were/are perfect! Use 1: I used the first gate at the top of the stairs in my house to help remind an elderly relative not to get too close to the edge of the stairs. This gate is not super sturdy, so it probably wouldn't hold the weight of a person leaning against it, but this is not something I needed. I just need it to serve as a reminder, so for me it works well. For use with kids, I think it would be sturdy enough to keep a toddler out of an area, but not a child any older than 2-3 years old if they were determined to get through. This gate really is best for situations where you need a barrier, but are not dealing with a pet or a child who would be super rough about trying to get out. Use 2: I used the second gate to to make a barrier in a wide passageway (50 inches) to keep my dog and my cat in the living-room when needed. My dog is 45lbs and polite/good mannered, so he doesn't even try to get through the gate. My cat however, can easily jump and this gate (or any other gate) wouldn't be able to keep her in without a few adjustments. To keep my cat in, I got a thick curtain and hung it across the top of the passageway right above the gate. I then used velcro to attach the curtain to the top of the gate (the hand rail and some of the wood lattice) so that there were no gaps or areas that my cat could jump through. I basically used the gate and the curtain to make a nice looking and easy to slide open wall/ceiling high barrier that my cat can't get through either (but both my pets can still see through the gate). This has really worked out great as it's easy to use, can be removed easily, and does the job of securing my pets whenever the need arises. Overall, this gate is awesome and I would recommend it to anyone with similar needs to my own. :)

Awesome baby gate for up until 3 years old
Love this gate. Bought it once my LO first became mobile & it has lasted & worked perfectly until she turned 3 & figured out how to unlatch it. She just turned 3 a week ago & that was it. ❤️Inexpensive & probably one of the better ones at this price point, sturdy, a bit taller than other, basic baby gates, easy to use & install, great for doorways/places that are a bit wider or unusual.... 😫The only things I don't like about it, & they're not a big deal... having to put holes in your walls. Initially I was looking for a tension gate, I guess, but the width of space I needed it for was a bit wider than those stretched to. And we do use a tension gate in another part of the house, but the LO keeps knocking it down/shaking it (with all her little might), we actually had to replace it & the newer one is starting to mess up again. Installing directly to wall is necessary for a more sturdy gate. And also, fingers/hands can get pinched opening the gate, but it hasn't happened many times in the 2.5 years we've used it. Just be careful. If you're considering getting this gate to keep your baby/ies out of a certain area, it's a terrific gate, but just know that it will only last until about 3 years of age.

Finally a gate that the humans can live with!
I really like this gate ALOT! I'm also glad that I paid the extra 10$ to get it in the dark stained farmhouse option. It looks so much better than the blonde option that looks like a gate from the 1950's! Anyway, back to the gate.....I gave it 4 stars for the sturdiness factor as at this point. I'm just not sure how well it will hold up because it feels a bit flimsy which may just be because of the scissor design, not like it will break soon, but that it may not hold up for the long term. But that being said, I gave it 5 stars overall because it's just that awesome! I was so tired of living with all the traditional baby gates that have a floor bar to trip over and the door openings are narrow and you need two hands to get them open. They are also very pricey if you need one for a wide opening and then the door is the same size (narrow) as a gate for a smaller opening! I'm not using this for babies/toddlers. I'm using it for dogs. We have a well trained German Shepherd and 3 small Shihtzus that we like to keep in our back hallway when they are wet, or for the GSD at night. It isn't the tallest gate so if you have a dog that would tend to jump it, you may need to mount it a bit higher off the floor to prevent that. For me, that would then allow my little dogs to go under. But our dog just needs the visual reminder of the separation so he doesn't try to jump it. I absolutely love the I can fold it back and swing it out of the way! That is my favorite thing about it. The latch is easy to use for every age group. Honestly though, we just lightly close it and it works for us to make it easier to open. The top rail is made of plastic, dark brown in our case, and it slides quite nicely. Installation is quick and easy using eye bolts that are included. With the position of our gate there was a stud right there, so we didn't need any drywall sinks. I'm not sure how well it would hold in the wall even with sinks with the constant opening and closing, but for me that is not an issue. If you are sick and tired of the traditional style baby gates don't give this one a second thought. For 40 Bucks, I'm am extremely happy that I got this.

Good product
I love this gate. My first gate was a metal one that just never lined up and was hard to lock and open. This gate is more light-weight not as sturdy as a metal gate but much more functional to use. Easy to install. Easy in and out. If your dogs are bruts and barrel thru gates easily this is not the gate for you. However if your pets respect boundries its perfect and easy to take down quick. I would buy again. Fast ship.

Works great. I'm glad I got it
I've had it for a few months now. Great fence to keep dogs and little kids from going where we don't want them to. It's straight and sturdy, unlike many others brands I've bought in the past. I also like that both sides have latches and are easy to remove. When in opened position, the top plastic bar does hit the wall, so it doesn't lay flat against the wall - the end is out about 6-12". It doesn't seem to stress the gate when I manually push it flat against the wall, so I'm sure I could put in a clip to hold it there, but it isn't a big deal for me. I think this was a great deal, and am about to get another to replace a different gate.

Great gate for anyone, especially for your beloved pet!
I purchased this gate to prevent my elderly dog from falling down the stairs. It’s not only beautiful and well made but it’s sturdy!! I anchored it into the wall with no problem!

Evenflo Room Divider Gate: A Multifunctional Solution for My Home
The Evenflo Expansion Walk Thru Room Divider Gate has proven to be an incredibly versatile addition to my home. Initially, I added it to my pool deck to keep my dogs safely away from the pool area, and it worked like a charm. The telescoping design was a perfect fit for my needs. It effectively served as a barrier to keep my four-legged friends out of the pool while allowing easy access for humans. This gate not only provided security but also peace of mind, knowing that my pets were protected. However, what makes this gate truly exceptional is its adaptability. Once I had a proper gate installed on my pool deck, I found another valuable use for the Evenflo gate. We relocated it inside the house, where it now serves as a kennel divider in our laundry room, particularly on rainy days. The ease with which it can be moved and set up in different locations is a testament to its practical design. It's sturdy, reliable, and does the job admirably in both outdoor and indoor settings. The walk-thru feature is a convenience I've come to appreciate, allowing humans to pass through effortlessly without having to disassemble the gate. It's a small but crucial detail that adds to its user-friendliness. In summary, the Evenflo Expansion Walk Thru Room Divider Gate has proven to be a multifunctional solution for my home. Its versatility, durability, and ease of use make it a valuable asset for pet owners looking to secure different areas of their living space. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a reliable and adaptable gate for various needs.

Fine when attached to studs. Not sturdy enough if just attached to drywall.
This one has 4 eyelet screws that you screw right into the wall, two screws on each side. Once the screws are attached, you can use the latch to open it from either side. You will need to install in a door frame or put it into wall studs on both sides to make it work safely. I did not think about looking for studs ahead of time, so we screwed this into drywall using the anchors that were provided. It did not last long screwed into the drywall even with the anchors. After about two months, the screws and anchors fell out and I had to move the screws a few inches away to a new spot, you can see I filled in the holes in the photo. Moving them is easy to do, especially since the door has free range to attach at any angle. You can set the eyelets at any level or height you want on the wall to allow for space at the bottom. We installed ours about an inch from the floor, but we need to sort of lift it lightly so that it doesn't drag across the floor. There are two kids and two adults opening it constantly, and it is a heavy traffic area. My four and five year old can open and close it just fine, but my one year old cannot. I use it at the bottom of the steps so he cannot go upstairs. I like that it stretches from 24" to 60" so that it can be used at any width. Like I said before it also works at any angle. The lattice within the gate is diamond shaped and the inside gaps when completely stretched are 3.5" wide by 5.5" high. There is also about a 1" gap between the frame and where it hooks into the wall. I would not use this at the top for fear the eyelet screws would get pulled out. I have used several baby gates, all different types. We use a metal gate at the top of the stairs that is hard for all of my kids to open and close - it is very sturdy and has lasted 5 years without any problems and only one side of the metal gate is in a stud - see photo. This is the only gate that has lasted without some sort of issue. Let me know if you have any more questions!
