Cheap, effective, comfortable.
My favorite part about this thing is that it’s CHEAP! It’s not trying to hide that, either. It’s cheap & you’re getting exactly what you pay for. Quite a comfortable grip, makes holding the 3DS with my big hands much easier and makes extended play sessions so comfortable. The only problem I have with it is the joke of a kickstand on the back, where the price really starts to show. It will not hold your DS up, and is way too easy to knock over. Honestly, the kickstand feels too cheap. I think they could get the price of the unit down if they would just manufacture it without the kick stand. It’s a waste. Every other aspect of the grip is perfect, but if they shave another 4 dollars off the price by removing it, and I think this would be perfect.

Works great with proper care
This is a comfortably contoured grip made with hard plastic. This is great for pet owners, because the other grips out there are made with soft silicone, which attracts fur. To attach the grip to your New 3DS XL, push the edge of your 3DS that doesn't have the L/R buttons into the grip first. Then, finish by gently snapping the edge that does have the L/R buttons into the case. To remove the grip WITHOUT BREAKING THE GRIP'S PLASTIC TABS: hold the 3DS+grip in one hand such that your 3DS's lid is against your palm, your thumb rests on the edge that has the L/R buttons, and your other four fingers are holding the opposite edge, which doesn't have the L/R buttons. With your other hand, use your thumb to grip the edge of the grip that's on your 3DS's edge that has the L/R buttons, and place the other four fingers on the opposite edge of the grip for leverage. Your hands' thumbs should be next to each other, and your non-thumb fingers should all be along the same edge as each other. Use your first hand to squeeze your 3DS into the non-L/R edge of the grip, and use your second hand to gently pull the grip away from the 3DS with your thumb. The motion is similar to how you open a small coin purse that's closed by clasps.

3.5 stars- cheap but effective
Bottom Line: Better than no grip; I'm willing to deal with the cons listed below for that reason alone. Not their fault, but lame: > Putting this on your 3DS XL will make it not fit in any protective zip-up case you have. I have this problem with my official switch grip as well. not their fault, but just FYI. Pros: > cheap (~$14) > Thickens and widens the 3DS XL so that your hands sit more comfortably (they're not squished) > Light (100g according to the box art) > Does exactly what was promised Cons: > Too Cheap: the plastic feels flimsy where it clips (other reviewers have mentioned the clips breaking due to improper technique of 3DS removal). For nearly the same price, my switch grip is sturdier, doesn't block anything accept docking ability on a standard dock, is more flexible, and has lasted over 6 years. For the materials this is made from, I expect <$10 price range. The vender should ship it without a box to save money on materials if necessary. > The game card slot is blocked. This is likely because in order to leave it unblocked, the frame would be too fragile, so they block it; at least I hope that's the reason. > You need specific instructions to remove it without breaking it. This is a bad design if that's the case. > It's a little small. Not super small, but the grip is off compared to something like an Xbox controller. > If you're going to make box art and text, do your due diligence to use proper English (or any other language the box text comes in), otherwise do away with it all together to save money on packaging and reduce the price of the item for consumers. This isn't a dig on the product itself, just a pet peeve of mine.

Good grip case for new 3ds xl
I got this because holding my 3ds has been hurting my hands. The grip helps a lot and now I can play my older games again. You do have to remove it to put in a game cartridge in but thats okay. It seems very sturdy.

Comfortable
Snaps easily on and off so I can only use it when I need it like a controller. I bought this to make playing rhythm games and fighting games more economic. Holding the 3DS down lower using the handle works really well and I am cramp free.

Great product for cheap!
This thing is honestly really good! It isn't the highest quality when it comes to material, though it gets the job done really well. I have bigger hands and this thing makes holding the new 3ds xl 10x more comfortable than ever, especially when playing games that use the C stick (small nub) to constantly look around, like in majora's mask for example. It's a great product and I recommend purchasing it if you're hand become uncomfortable after using the 3ds for extended periods of time. 10/10

Awful at what its supposed to do
This is terrible, it doesnt serve its purpose. At least for me it often made the 3ds more uncomfortable to hold. The grips on the back are very flat and dont flare out like a controll making it quite uncomfortable. Also, its not very secure the 3ds still moved around a bit in the grip and taking it on and off feels like your going to break it. Considering this is the only option for a 3ds grip in 2024 I still would not reccomend it. It was very uncomfortable for me. I found myself constantly adjusting how I was holding it as when my hands started to sweat I could hold it properly. Holding the ds with just my clear case felt better than this. This will be a return for me and I dont reccomend this product if u have large hands.

Absolutely Perfect
Anyone with an XL knows how hard it is on hands after awhile to play games, this makes it ALOT easier. I will say that the grips could be slightly more ergonomic for holding BUT that's the only thing I'd say was a negative. I'd definitely still recommend getting one if you have an XL

Works fine
Everything is good about this product except the difficulty of adding or changing cartilage games. I have to take the darn thing first and add or change the cartilage which is annoying, but the performance is great I can play games properly.
