Greatest book ever for self-transformation!
As I sat watching television at my girlfriend's during a period I was in a bit of a funk, suddenly a book flew out of a shelf above me by unseen hands and landed next to me. Thinking it must be a cookbook, I ignored this at first, but my curiosity got the best of me, so I reached over to look at what this was. It was the "Playbook" which accompanies EXCUSE ME, YOUR LIFE IS WAITING. Opening a page at random, I quickly found extremely helpful information to guide me and get past what was blocking me. The information in the "Playbook" is identical, I soon found, to what is in EXCUSE ME YOUR LIFE IS WAITING which I purchased immediately from Amazon. I soon found there was far more wonderful guidance to be found here in the main book than was in the "Playbook". But I highly recommend buying both books! I cannot say a lot of what is in YOUR LIFE IS WAITING is new. Similar information was in THINKING AND DESTINY which I read in 1968. I have read dozens of books on spiritual and personal development since then, but nothing has "stuck" the way this book has, even with seemingly identical layouts, not even remotely. What Grabhorn has done is simplify in clear terminology the way the Universe works, scaling things down to the effects of positive and negative energy on absolutely everything we do. This may sound obvious, but the difference is that she really DOES apply this to anything and everything such as that all illness is a result of accumulated negative energy. And that we draw unpleasant incidents, like plane crashes we are in and things like muggings as a result of the negative energy we put out, usually but not always unknowingly. That we need to take responsibility for where we find ourselves in life and that there is actually an order in all things and a reason for everything cannot sit well with a population convinced other people and forces are to blame or that the world is made up of nothing but random events. As has been suggested elsewhere that by saying, "I accept responsibility for what is and give thanks" is a way back to the "center" we should seek to achieve through meditation is something many of us will have difficulty saying the day a brick lands on our heads. Another thing Lynn Grabhorn promotes is the notion that even the seemingly direst, seemingly fatal illness can be reversed through the injection of positive energy, admittedly over time. She provides the example of Norman Cousins, the publisher, who refused to keep succumbing to the negative energy of the cancer which was killing him and reversed everything through amazing persistence to making himself well again. Grabhorn explains that the purpose of life is simply to express the individuality of our creative energy and power and choose between positive and negative energy, attitudes, and experiences. What everyone SHOULD appreciate if they have trouble accepting the concepts of Universal order presented here is that Grabhorn presents multiple EASY methods for getting yourself out of funks and, in the long run, fulfilling all of your desires. Too many of the self-help books out there suffer from overly academic and esoteric language, turning what the author presents here so simply and compactly into some unnecessarily long and complicated instruction which is impossible to absorb. Much as I have tended to accept Karma as a source of one's problems, this whole concept is avoided by this author, not because it isn't a genuine concept but because there is no need to make such judgments as to why we are experiencing misfortunes. It may just be that we are experiencing a "negative attraction" which Grabhorn speaks of when we draw to us an unpleasant experience with another person out to do us harm. It may just be a "lesson", not Karma, going on here, as one spiritual teacher explained to me once. I have been recommending this book to everyone who seems to be stuck in things they can't seem to get out of. And there are those who are addicted to their misery, I have found. The author concedes, even if we accept the concepts presented here, we will still have bad days and we will go into doubt with a capital "D" from time to time. But due to the multiple remedies Grabhorn presents for dealing with these periods, you cannot stay as long in a negative state. In short, I have to say - at least for me - this book is the greatest!

Good read
Book was recommended from a magazine I had read. Itโs okay in theory but the ideas need to be practiced regularly.

I really enjoyed this at first and then it got repetitive. Once Iโd got the gist I stopped reading.
