Q: Does this tell the pets temperature?

Actually, and to correct one of the answers provided, microchips CAN provide temperature readings as well as the microchip number. The temperature reading and the microchip number are shown on the scanning device. Home Again DOES make temp scan chips! I am not completely sure but believe that the HomeAgain size XS chip (inserted with a 15 gauge needle) does not provide temperature info while the standard HomeAgain chip (inserted with a 12 gauge needle) does provide temperature info on the scanning device.

Q: how you track the dog????

This is just a chip. You have to scan the dog to get the ID. If you want to track the dog, there are tracking devices you put on their collar that is completely separate.

Q: So does this have to be done by a vet? My daughter is a nurse could she do it? The vet charges ridiculous prices to do this for a $15.00 item

This sells for $15 on Amazon which is nice. At the Vet the cost is usually $30-$50. Please consider when you go to the Vet you’re paying for the microchip, plus the knowledge the Dr or LVT Tech has to insert it correctly, (very large, sharp needle!) plus someone professional to safely restrain your pet, plus the reader to check the chip works, plus the vet receptionist does the registration paper work, oh and plus their time! Pretty good deal at the Vet! Please don’t Vet bash, it’s super hard work all the drugs cost the same as human supplies & believe me no one gets rich there!
