Self Heal (Prunella Vulgaris) is an age-old plant-based remedy, that once served as a widely-known 'generic treatment' for whatever ailed you, way back in the days before modern pharmaceuticals. People even made tea from the leaves, stalks and especially the flower buds of the plant. (It does make a very nice tea, by the way. Get your fine strainer out! You can preserve some of the tea concentrate for use during winter months.) Unlike, the plethora of scams often touted as "cure-all" remedies for every known malady, self-heal actually had medicinal benefits. Those were most likely due to the 'rosemarinic acid' the plant produces. It is a well-known antioxidant compound. Of course, many hugely over-stated testimonials for Self-Heal ( or All-Heal, as it was sometimes known) still abound in dusty old books, and even in a few newer publications, usually ones claiming "miracle" cures. For example, it has been wildly over-touted, even as a 'cure' for cancer, AIDS, and many other major maladies. The plant (Prunella Vulgaris) still grows in considerable abundance, as a largely unrecognized weed that pops up virtually everywhere in moderate climate areas. It re-germinates annually in virtually any uncut 'waste areas' where it grows and flowers, such as alongside old railway right-of-way beds, and back in the shoulders of older roadways, including all along any old abandoned dirt roads, and old pathways through the woods.

I got this because I read it may help lower blood pressure. It helped somewhat but the real thing I’ve noticed is how soft and nice it has made my skin! I’ll keep repurchasing just based on that.

I bought it to heal family member who suffers from colitis and was in a bad long bout. I was recommended this by a friend. It has amazing helped relieve symptoms, pain and discomfort. The longer they take it the better they are feeling their colitis is under control and feels like it's healing. Would recommend anyone with colitis, IBS,any kind of intestinal, digestive system upsets or major issues.

I love the self-heal. It stands by it's name. It is helpful in many health issues. Lungs, liver, kidneys, etc. It does have side effects that some people might not like. For instance people over 50 years of age not having a menstrual cycle could start spotting. Other than that, it is great. Please protect this from the Pharmaceutical companies due to the fact that if people use this they won't need so many of their products. Thank you
