Yes. The wire bail holds the rubber gasket and plastic top on the bottle with a lot of force. The rubber gasket does a nice job of making up any small inconsistencies in the bottle finish or top. Our parent company sells about 500,000 a year of this type of swing top with no problem.

Yes these bottles are designed especially for in-bottle carbonation.

Q: Are the "Wire Swing" made from stainless steel?

The certification indicates galvanized iron polished redraw. So, not stainless steel but high carbon steel like used for springs. It will rust if the galvanized finish is removed. The certification does indicate “suitable for food contact.”

Q: Can you use a regular beer cap to cap these for conditioning?

The print specifies GPI-611-24 which is a Crown Finish 26. Even though I have not applied a Crown Pry off type cap, it should work.
