Good looking and kids love it
Amazing so far! Get cabinet handles so kids can open it themselves. I got 6 50-pound bags of sand and it’s perfect. I wish I sprung for better sand (just got play sand from Home Depot). Kids love it and so nice they can sit on the edge and not get AS dirty :)

Durability
light weight and easy to assemble. However not very durable. The screws that are used on the hinges could stand to be a little larger both in diameter and length. The wind took bot the backs off and split one of the cross beams so now I'm in the middle of repairing.

great design, not great quality
This sandbox was relatively easy to put together, but the durability isn't great and I'm not sure it will survive past this season. Its VERY soft wood, the included screws stripped out in many of the holes without every the slightest bit of resistance, and one of the backrest pieces split while I was putting it together (hopefully some good wood glue will hold it). Its a nice size for my 2yo and the plans and design are exactly what I was looking for. If the seat piece hadn't broken then the folding seat/cover is a perfect fit for our home with neighborhood cats! I put 250lbs (5 bags) of sand in it, 200lbs may be enough. My daughter thinks I'm the best dad ever for buying/building it for her though, so as long as she's happy and it makes it one season I'll make other plans once this one bites the dust!

For my Grandson!
I didn't assemble it and was shipped directly to my Son's house for my Grandson. Recommend 10-12 50lb bags of sand.
