When Azeroth was young, the noble titans appointed the five great dragonflights to safeguard the budding world. Each of the flights' leaders was imbued with a portion of the titans' vast cosmic powers. Together, these majestic Dragon Aspects committed themselves to thwarting any force that threatened the safety of Azeroth. More than 10,000 years ago, a betrayal by the maddened black Dragon Aspect, Deathwing, shattered the strength and unity of the dragonflights. His most recent assault on Azeroth-the Cataclysm-has left the world in turmoil. At the Maelstrom, the center of Azeroth's instability, former Horde warchief Thrall and other accomplished shaman struggle to keep the world from tearing apart in the wake of Deathwing's attack. Yet a battle also rages within Thrall regarding his new life in the shamanic Earthen Ring, hampering his normally unparalleled abilities. Of even greater concern is a bleak and terrifying possible future glimpsed by the mysterious green Dragon Aspect, Ysera: the Hour of Twilight. Before this apocalyptic vision comes to pass, Thrall must purge his own doubts in order to discover his purpose in the world and aid Azeroth's dragonflights as they face the Twilight of the Aspects. Review: No-Spoiler Review - The book arrived brand-new and in perfect condition. Thrall: Twilight of the Aspects is one of those Warcraft books that mixes personal stakes with big-scale world events. Itโs more about character and duty than nonstop action, showing Thrall navigating leadership and the responsibilities of the dragonflights. The story moves quickly enough to stay engaging, but itโs the moments of reflection and the political tensions that give it weight. You get a sense of the scale of Azeroth and how much falls on Thrallโs shoulders without it ever feeling boring. Somewhat correct chronological Warcraft novel timeline: 1. War of the Ancients Trilogy - The Well of Eternity - The Demon Soul - The Sundering 2. Dawn of the Aspects 3. Rise of the Horde 4. The Last Guardian 5. Tides of Darkness 6. Beyond the Dark Portal 7. Day of the Dragon 8. Lord of the Clans 9. Of Blood and Honor 10. Arthas: Rise of the Lich King 11. Illidan 12. Cycle of Hatred 13. Night of the Dragon 14. Stormrage 15. The Shattering: Prelude to Cataclysm 16. Thrall: Twilight of the Aspects 17. Wolfheart 18. Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War 19. Volโjin: Shadows of the Horde 20. War Crimes 21. Before the Storm 22. Worth the read
Since Christie Golden released Arthas: Rise of The Lich King I have become a fan of her books and since these aren't avalaible in the UK they are well worth the read! I'm a big World of Warcraft player and my biggest love is the Lore side of the game and Christie delivers the Lore perfectly and helps tie up any loose ends like this one fits in just before patch 4.2 Rage of the Firelands. People might say she drags out some of her descriptions but it helps the reader visualise the story. Thrall is one of my favourite characters in the WoW world and Christie you have done it again! I look forward to your next WoW book Worth the read guys
