Is this made in China, Seller stated yes on Sept 15, 2016, was this a wrong responce to the question?

This product is repackaged in Columbus, Ohio but the ingredients originate from China.

Can you put it in cold liquid

It should work fine may take a little time to dissolve. I use a very small amount in my homemade salad dressing to help thicken and prevent separation.

Is this xanthan gum is plant based or animal based

Neither. It is produced from a fermentation process on bacteria. FROM WIKIPEDIA It can be produced from simple sugars using a fermentation process, and derives its name from the species of bacteria used, Xanthomonas campestris. HOWEVER, if you are interested in a plant option for thickening, you might be interested in guar gum which is from a guar bean. We sell guar gum as well. Thanks Judee

Can this be used for coating chicken for oven baking?

If you mean to add to gf flour and seasonings to coat the chicken, yes. I use half a teaspoon per cup of gf flour, and then follow the regular recipe.
