The Body Shop Cactus Long Handle Body Brush

My dad asked for a “ stiff bristled “ back brush for Christmas . I ordered 4 others prior to this which all advertised firm/ stiff bristles. None of them were . I ordered this as a last resort and it’s amazing! Nice stiff bristles as advertised . Great quality !

I bought my first The Body Shop cactus brush over 20 years ago and have been buying them ever since. For a short period of time they stopped making them in the US and I panicked!!!! Thankfully I found them in a London airport location, bought 2, and used them probably longer than I should have...until they were being sold here in the US again.Dry brushing is amazing and the health benefits are well-documented. You can take one of these brushes that's had a day or so to dry out from your last shower, and before you get wet, give yourself a vigorous full-body scrub with the bristles. It feels rough but you get used to it, and your skin and muscles will thank you for it!For cleaning, these can't be beat. I use them with soaps, bath gels, you name it. Just rinse it out thoroughly, sanitize regularly, and don't let them stay wet after use. They'll last up to 2 years.

This brush cleans effectively and gives a good scrub.

Many brushes claim that they are "firm" or "stiff." I have tried many of them and most are relatively soft. This is the only brush that I consider to be stiff. The only down side is that the wooden handle will splinter if the brush is left in the shower in a place where it is continually kept wet.

This is very sturdy. The bristles are hard and take some getting used to but more flexible in warm shower. I prefer this one to something soft and squishy. Plus, the bristles are fairly long. I recommend this product. Thanks

Unlike other reviewers, I didn't notice any weird smells. Good sturdy handle, good sturdy bristles. I've been using it regularly for a few months now. the bristles are pretty aggressive, I found that they work great everywhere but my sensitive tum tum and my neck. If i have self-discipline that day, I can go real light in those areas (and my face) and it's fine. Someday I'll try a medium bristle like boar's hair because I'm not so sure the extra coarseness of cactus is absolutely necessary. I did buy a cactus bristle w/o the handle for my face, but honestly this one brush can handle it all.

I have bought this product twice before. The latest one lasted nearly 7 years. This one's head is cracked within a month, and no, I didn't drop it. I keep mine at the back of my shower, on a hanger, so it can drain and dry. The bristles are falling out, the whole thing has some coating over the wood and the stuff is sloughing off. I got a splinter the other day from shifting the head in my hands. I am incredibly disappointed. The bristles are good and strong, but falling out within a month? If they keep this terrible quality, I wouldn't buy from them. I also got one for my partner, hers is still eligible for return. Hers is growing mold NEXT to my old one of 7ish years...no mold. Typical increased price for cheaper quality.

The cactus bristles are very firm which is what I wanted. My back is always itchy so this is wonderful for that. It is not too stiff for dry brushing the rest of my body either- but most people would want a less firm/scratchy brush. I used to have a Bass boar bristle bamboo brush before this one. It had a little less firm of bristles but was still pretty good. Unfortunately I kept that in the shower and after a few months the bamboo started splitting apart. Now I know I should have oiled the wood and not used in the shower as much to make it last longer. This is a good length and I can reach all parts of my back with ease.I have been using this body shop cactus brush primarily before I shower so that the wood doesn't start to crack or break apart. I spread almond oil all over the wood to protect it for the few times I will use it in the shower.I would buy this product again.
