Sometimes you need a nail file to smooth out or reshape a nail. If you are grown up enough to have your life and things somewhat organized, it is worth investing in one of these. It is sufficiently expensive that if you are prone to setting things down and forgetting where you put them, or others in your household will walk away with it, think twice. At Thanksgiving, visiting family, I was touching up a rough spot that was driving me crazy. My sister-in-law said she used to have one years ago. She asked to borrow it and commented on how well these things work. I had a brainstorm and realized a stocking stuffer for her. Later, I realized I needed to get two more for my nieces also. Everyone loved them. Use, rinse off, tap to shed the water, return to its designated location. It goes next to my Seki Edge nail clippers. The number 2 Diamancel is the perfect grit.

I just love this file. Yes it is expensive in my opinion but I bit the bullet and bought it. I don’t regret the purchase and I’m sure it’s going to last for years. One main reason that I like it is because it DOES NOT SPLIT the end of my nails causing peeling. I highly recommend this file. There is one thing that I wish it had though - a pointed end so you could clean under your nails also.

For yeeears I had a similar nail file called Diamond Dust from Ms Manicure before it finally broke. I purchased this in 2021 after years of searching, and it's still going strong. It's the perfect texture, I usually trim my nails with a straight clipper and then smooth and perfect the shape with this file, but it can also handle filing down on its own. I love that I can disinfect and clean it. I hope it comes back in stock because I want a dedicated one for travel, maybe a mini! Can't recommend it enough. It isn't inexpensive, but you won't need another except for convenience.
