Review: Does not work as advertised - The slicers are either too big or too small for a normal hotdog. As others have pointed out, the slicer tears the hotdog and results in hotdog chunks. The outside of the slicers are too smooth. Any moisture makes it very difficult to hold and stop rotating. The outside should have ridges or something to allow holding the slicer securely. Great idea poorly executed. Review: GREAT INVESTMENT - At first I thought this was a waist of money ONLY because I wasn't using it properly!! It's a bit challenging at first. I realized that when your spiralling your hot dogs bend the hot dog as your threading it through. Hold your finger/thumb in front of the tip of the plastic so as not to carve into the hot dog as your spiralling it through and VUALA a perfectly spiralled hot dog. Got my husband using it and the kids just love how PERFECTLY spiralled their hot dogs are. This was such an awesome invention!!

Just not very sharp and rips the hotdog.

Doesn't work
While it looks like it would be simple to use, it doesn't. Out of a package of hot dogs, could not get one to go through with breaking the dog in half or tearing a big hole in the hot dog. To me as cheap as it was, it was a waste.

Spiral hot dogs = more surface area = more flavor. Kind of hard to use though.
Since I purchased this product, I've only used the smaller slicer. I'm not sure if it's me, or the hot dog, or maybe the blade is not sharp enough, but the hot dog was twisting as I tried to spiral the slicer up the frank, particularly when you are close to the ends. I had to be very careful, and it winds up taking a bit longer than just using a knife would have. On the plus side, it's safer than using a knife, and it won't cut too deep and ruin it, like a knife can. More research is required, I have thus far only tried it on Nathan's franks, perhaps a different brand will yield better results!

FUN
FUN! Everyone loves the hot dogs cut with these. You can get the sauces where you want them.

I've seen better.
So far these have not worked as well as I had hoped. The leading edge bites into the dog and tears the skin. It's not easy to press a dog all the way from one end to the other. Once it gets most of the way through it is hard to hold onto the dog and push it but if you try pulling it it just tears off. Clever concept but I have seen better execution in other products.

Ok
Works about 80% of time. Frequently cuts smaller dogs in half.
